I'm not surprised the verified audience rating is lower for Lion King than Aladdin. After I watched it I knew the legs wouldn't be as great as Aladdin's. . I thought Aladdin was a genuinely good movie that critics were a bit un fair to and can 100% understand why audiences love it so much. With Lion King, although I did really enjoy it I think critics were more on target in their assessment of the film. It will still make a lot of money though

Mmm I just saw this...I liked it for what it was which was basically a scene for scene remake. Rogen and Eichner highlights. See with Aladdin I actually though it improved on some aspects of the animated film (filled in some plot holes and improved Jasmine's character drastically). That's why I thought the reviews were unfair for Aladdin. This didn't improve any aspects from the animated film at all. Almost everything was inferior to the animation. I really felt like they could have done so much more. I still really enjoyed it though. "Just can't wait to be King" was very well done. The child actors were very talented. I actually enjoyed the "Be Prepared" number. I don't get the hate for it. It was different but it wasn't bad. Hakuna Matata was okay but I felt they could have done more with it. James Earl Jones was great as Mufasa. My audience was full with a lot of kids. The audience seemed to enjoy it. Although one girl wa scared I think it will have decent legs but not strong as Aladdin's. The actors in Aladdin gave it a lot of charisma and it was actually a bit different than the animated movie. This was exactly the same. It will definitely do well at the boxoffice though.

I love Javier Bardem but if Halle is the only black actor it will add to the suggestions it was just stunt or PC casting. And I'm a huge chloexhalle fan. I'm a big theatre fan and I'm fine with color blind casting in general on stage (aside from when race is relevant to character) I can admit it usually doesn't work as well in film. I watched Brandy's Cinderella a lot as a kid and although I was fine with that it was a tv movie targeted at kids made in the 90s I don't think a big theatrical release will work as well. We'll just wait and see though

I just have a feeling the Elvis movie is going to be controversial. Sure ppl will hate on this movie but in the end it will be a family movie people will go see. I really think people are underestimating the potentially controversy of the Elvis movie, and I'm a huge Baz Luhrmann fan. Like I think he's brilliant. Moulin Rouge is one of my top 5 favourite movie. Like sure Elvis probably a more interesting role and might do well but I feel like Elvis's name is going to be dragged by the media which will hurt awards prospects. Also the reviews for the last few Baz projects are sorta mixed . We'll see next year which would have been better for Harry though lmao.
