pretty good
but some small character moments made me think this had the potential to be something truly extraordinary if it was more committed to a theme and more fully tied it around its exploration of Snow
like the third act, but it really needed an international monologue, the actual hunger games, outside of some moments that got a bit a creative, really didn't do much for me this time around, the pacing a bit awkward at times and the movie sometimes tried a bit too hard
I'll have to check out the book
yeah the book was basically all internal monologue and that was a huge aspect the movie didn't have which made Snow come off as a lot more likeable and also took away some interesting character development. In the book it's clear from the very beginning he's a self serving asshole but that's not as clear in the movie.Like the movie kinda depicts Snow and Sejanus as "best friends" but in the book Snow spends so much time talking about how much he hates the guy and only tolerates him because of his money lol.

young people don't like sex scenes. There is no evidence they dislike romance in films and there is a lot of evidence against that tbh.

you guys think the lack of romance plots in movies is why something like Hunger Games is doing so well rnhonestly maybe. Like I 'm sorry if it sounds stereotypical or sexist but young women actually do like romance in movies and there's been backlash towards the idea that 'girl power' = no romance.

Maybe Disney will start adding romance to their Disney Princess films again. Because I for one am tired of their romance-less Disney princess movies.

Nah I lived in LATAM for a few years. I saw Bad Boys Forever and US in sold out theaters in LATAM. There are racists everywhere, please stop acting like every country is racists besides the US because the movie is flopping or getting bad feedback in those countries.
Something that's important to note is that a lot of the actresses who are dubbing Halle in those countries are awful. A lot of Halle's praise in the US involves her voice. The Asian and LATAM voice overs can't hold a candle to Halle, hearing those women I'd be mad too! Musicals are hard to translate in other countries
You watching bad boys doesn’t change all the racist Spanish posts I saw about Halle 🤣

You're right. Latinos universally love black people.
Lmao right when Halle’s casting was first announced some of the most racist shit I saw was from latinos

By the way, I feel like the Snow White movie might flop in LATAM. At least in my country the reactions haven't been good at all to the casting of Zegler.
Latin Americans seems to have strong opinion on Disney live action casting choices.

OMG strongly considering changing my profile pic for the first time ever lol

The international box office journey for Sony's THE WOMAN KING has just begun...$1.3M in 2 markets, 838 screens.
Brazil ($1M)
Nigeria ($300k)
The 2 major non African characters in the movie are Brazilian (one is a villain though), I've heard their Portuguese was not very good though lol....

considering it'll be very local and the budget is 50m... The Woman King looks like a flop to me
Maybe wait to see how it holds up in the upcoming weeks before saying this lmao. My theatre loved it. Will have great legs imo.

Just watched it. My theater loved it. Super engaged and cheered at one point + clapped at the end. Also all the noise about them ignoring the impact of slavery is so completely unfounded lmao.

Woman king will have strong legs. Anyone who has seen the film raves about it
