  1. I'd completely forgotten about that! That twist completely retcons the motivation for Peter to take up responsibility because it basically says "it was never your fault", Uncle Ben would have died anyway.
  2. Seriously though, Batman just curb stomped the Joker's goons, so his bargaining chips were virtually gone, and he was seen running away when Batman jumped out the window to save Rachel.
  3. Watch the scene, he's clearly whipping his cape around to form a make-shift parachute and slow their descent. You may or may not like that method of preventing a fall, but it's clearly what he does.
  4. "Aunt Mae, Aunt Mae, is that an angel?"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-tQIo8sKMwNot the worst of the series, but easily one of the top 5 most overrated of the genre.
  5. Some parts are cheesy (the passengers on the train) and Colonel Jameson seems to suffer from the same condition as Gwen in the 3rd film (underdeveloped side character to be a meaningless obstacle for the protagonist).Still, a really good film overall, second best Marvel sequel after X2
  6. It's just bad.Aside from the obvious emoPeter/Dance number issues, there was also terrible miscasting for several characters, established characters get assassinated (why would Peter ask MJ to look at the stage, then get Gwen to kiss him? I could see that happening if he was infected by the symbiote at that point, but he wasn't), lazy writing in the first 10 minutes to get Harry out of the way for the first half with a soap opera-esque amnesia plot. Gwen was relegated to "someone for MJ to get jealous over", Sandman's genesis was contrived (Yeah, a bird, not a lot of fowl life over 200 pounds, unless it's from Sesame Street), and when you combine it with Brock becoming Venom, it just leads to too much stuff going on (Sandman could have been established at the start of the film).
  7. He ran away after dropping Rachel. That level of raucous activity was bound to attract police protection and put him at a disadvantage if he stayed.
  8. He used his cape as a makeshift propeller to slow down their fall.
  9. The-numbers.com is finally updating again, claiming they'll have all up-to-date sales info before the end of the month.
  10. TDKR was a highly praised film because it was simply a high quality product. The vast majority see it as ranking between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight (Considered the pinnacle of the genre to this day), so any negatives the film has are squashed by the numerous positive aspects that are considered astounding triumphs by critics and fans alike.
  11. TDKR has better written characters, stronger character development, better plot twists, more powerful acting, more memorable score, better cinematography, better dialogue, better quality effects, the list goes on...There isn't a single measurable aspect where any of the Twilight films come even remotely close.
  12. There isn't a single actor in Breaking Dawn 2 that has ever been featured in a film as good or better than TDKR.
  13. Kubrickite, Aronofskite, Tarantite, Finchite, Mannite...There's a ton of directors with fanatics who worship them, based on Nolan's accomplishments, why should he be any different.
  14. Just not as good as the first 3. The supporting cast was too goofy, interchangeable and unmemorable.
  15. Well, he and Paul Tomas Anderson are easily up there as far as strong resumes go.
  16. Taste is subjective, but I fail to see how anyone can find more faults with TDKR than Breaking Dawn 2, especially after that atrocious beyond all belief twist ending. ANY film, regardless of subject matter, that had such a jaw-dropping, idiotic turn such as that would be ripped to shreds, but combined with the sub-Costner acting, laughable special effects, and complete lack of any sort of substantial plot to sustain any film for even close to an acceptable running time makes that film a truly horrendous viewing experience. In every measurable capacity, TDKR is far superior. In fact, the only CBM this year that rivals BD's lack of quality is Ghost Rider 2. Even Cordon's better works, Gods and Monsters and Kinsey, can't match up to the Trilogy's finish.
  17. The 97 remake is good too, with George C Scott giving a better performance than Lee J. Cobb.Still, the overall cast of the '57 film is better and the knife scene is executed far better in that film.
  18. Except when it comes to plot, characterization, character development and acting. Breaking Dawn 2, like every single other installment of its atrocious saga, was an absolutely awful film that failed to reach the level of competent in any measurable cinematic area, but this one, in particular, reached a level even below the previous with one of the worst, cheapest, copout plot device twists ever executed in the history of cinema since its birth with Roundhay Garden.
  19. TDKR is not only a vastly superior quality piece of filmmaking/storytelling than those films, but it's a better film than many of those film's stars have ever been in (especially Kevin James, Lautner, Kitsch, who have never been in a film above the level of "awful" their entire respective careers) or directed (Tim Story, who has built his career on a pile of sh*t that rivals Uwe Boll)
  20. So the Bourne sequels, LOTR 2&3&Hobbit, along with Toy Story 3 must be 2/10 as well.
  21. One of my all time favorite films. The "Same Knife" scene still gives me a rush of adrenaline every time I see it.and yet, despite such visuals, It's also a film that takes the "Show. don't tell" rule and tosses it out the window to great success. I'll take a film filled with relevant dialogue over one with pointless visuals that add nothing to the story any day
  22. There are far more numerous and glaring flaws in those films than in TDKR.In fact, I can't think of a single film that Bay or any director of the Twilight installments have ever made that was as good.
