  1. Batman Begins: ****3/4The Dark Knight: *****The Dark Knight Rises: **** - ****1/4 depending on my mood. So, yeah, the worst of the trilogy.Still, better than the weakest installments of many other highly regarded trilogies such as Jedi, Temple of Doom, GF3, Bourne Identity, Back to the future 2 (&3), and is it just me or does Fellowship just have some odd scenes that become distracting.
  2. Also, whose to say he didn't hitch a ride from someone in the country who didn't work for the LOS, or stolen a boat himself, or stowed away on a transport on its way to the states? He got from Gotham to the country where the League operates in the first film without access to riches, who's to say he didn't utilize his skills to get back?
  3. I think it proves that Hemsworth cannot carry a film.
  4. Blech movie... but at least Evans was more entertaining in this comic film series
  5. DDL + PTA = WIN I...Drink...Your...MILKSHAKE! SLURPSLURPSLURP!
  6. A better quality piece of storytelling than all of the Twilight films combined. ****1/2 of *****
  7. DUD out of ***** The WORST comic book film ever made and a top contender for worst film ever made. Absolutely nothing about it worked on ANY level. -Terrible acting - Atrocious cliches done ad nauseum without a single time being done competently - Laughable special effects at every turn (especially when compared to Star Trek, a film that came out one week later with the same budget) - Ridiculous plot that has so many directionless plot-holes, particularly the part with Wolverine's girlfriend revealing her mutant ability, which she only didn't utilize earlier because the film would have been over within a half hour, giving us a ridiculously convoluted and pointless storyline which apparently takes years to come to fruition. - Insanely rushed introductions/assassinations/revelations within the first 3 minutes of the film. - gobs of forced character cameos for fan service while NOT serving the film itself - gratingly stupid comedy bits that kill any tone it was going for before (i.e. bathroom, boxing scene) - The mind erasing bullet, do I even need to emphasize? This is just an awful film, rather than fix the multitude of issues X3 had before it, it does nothing but create a bitter taste in the mouths of comic lovers/film goers everywhere. Not surprising that .Gavin Hood hasn't done much since then but low quality TV work
  8. Why not? Since troll posts are the name of the game around here.
  9. A factual representation of why the Avengers is an overhyped mess.http://www.cracked.c...ore-honest.htmlAnd one that points out even more issues. Sure, some of it's nitpicking, then again, that's the name of the game, right?http://problemswithavengers.blogspot.ca/
  10. 9/10... are they serious.Wow, it's not often you see a top 50 list completely lose any credibility after the 2nd selection. Here's Richard Corliss' top 10 films of the year list.http://entertainment.time.com/2012/12/04/top-10-arts-lists/slide/the-dark-knight-rises/
  11. The entire Star Wars Prequel trilogy was bad, easily as rotten as Clone Wars (movie and TV series)and The Dark Knight Rises is a far better quality piece of film making than ANYTHING Michael Bay has ever had his name attached too.http://blog.moviefone.com/2009/02/02/discuss-is-there-room-for-michael-bay-in-the-age-of-chris-nolan/
  12. I voted Inception because I literally can barely remember any part of the Gladiator score. Outside of Nolan films, the only Zimmer scores I can recall are the Lion King and Pirates of the Caribbean. It's not my fault I think his works with Nolan are his career best.
  13. This is why I can't take a lot of the criticisms of TDKR seriously, when this... "Batman quitting because a bad guy killed his girlfriend…. PISSES ME THE FUCK OFF." - Harry Knowles ...is one of their biggest complaints. Bitching about Bruce not dating for that length of time, yeah, that I could see being a legit complaint; but did people just completely forget about him taking the fall for Harvey Dent's murder and the murders Dent committed himself in order to make sure his reputation was unscathed so that the convictions against the criminals he took to court would not be overturned? This "issue" has absolutely no legs to stand on and falls flat on its face.
  14. Fight Club and Shawshank are lower quality films than The Dark Knight, so both are more overrated.
  15. A flawless, multi-layered, iconic masterpiece of cinema and a phenomenal triumph of storytelling, heralding back to the golden age of motion picture (Godfather, Lawrence of Arabia, etc). By FAR the most refreshing entry to the CBM industry, pushing the boundaries and giving us true variety to a tired and stale genre that other companies seem too complacent to stick with.
  16. ****3/4 out of *****The best comic book film ever at the time of its release, eclipsed only by its sequel.Nolan's 7+ year reign as "CBM god" began here, and he's been playing 'keep away' with the title from Marvel, Darkhorse and the rest of DC ever since.
  17. Both Sherlock Holmes films should be significant;y lower on RT, as well as Iron Man 2Pee Wee's Big Adventure should be barely fresh.
  18. 1. Shawshank Redemption A great, dramatic, uplifting story, but I don't believe I would put it in the top 10, certainly not at #1. Overrated 2. The Godfather While it is not necessarily 100% flawless, it is, nonetheless, a very tense, layered narrative about the corruption of a young man who is torn between love of family hatred for the business they're in. Filled with great performances and an ending that doesn't take the easy way out. Not overrated 3. The Godfather 2 Possibly the best "reluctant to direct" film ever made and arguably the best origin story ever told. It magnificently parallels the further corruption of Michael with the rise to power of Vito (a corruption in and of itself). Not overrated 4. Pulp Fiction A very inventive use of narrative with some interesting characters and a take on many different genres simultaneously. Still, I don't know if I would have it at #4. Slightly overrated 5. The Good, The Bad and the Ugly Haven't seen it straight through. N/R 6. 12 Angry Men Brilliant use of 12 distinct personalities, very effective use of exposition and visuals. The "same knife" scene is etched into my mind to this day. Not overrated 7. Schindler's list Spielberg's opus. A film that no one can say is "cloyingly sentimental" on his part. Not overrated 8. The Dark Knight A rich, thrilling crime drama that kept me on the edge of my seat. One of the best endings in cinema. Not overrated 9. Lord of the Rings: ROTK Epic battles and a satisfying conclusion, even if the numerous teaser endings did get a bit repetitive. Very slightly overrated 10. Fight Club Great film, up until the last 3rd, where I feel it went off the rails. Overrated

  21. The-numbers seems to be taking a long time in updating lately.
  22. TA was a dull, generic, lazy catalyst to cash in on a virtually raped gimmick (crossovers). TDKR all the way.
