I've said it before and I'll say it again. Get Bale back and do a Batman Beyond set in Nolan's verse. Remember the Joker gang? Show the cult status of Ledger's Joker all these years later in Gotham.
I could get behind that in another 10 years.

And because the studio has had this reputation of panicking and making brass decisions, it wouldn't remotely surprise me if all development on The Batman stalls... and they put all their chips behind getting Nolan and Bale back. Not that they would say "Yes," (the opposite in fact) but it wouldn't stun me to look up and read that in Deadline.
It would be more shocking if they didn't try to get them back. I hope they don't succeed.

In this instance that's a shame.
Yeah. Also, I dont remember what his prediction was, but I think even his may have even been too high.

How did Zack Snyder get to make a Justice League movie after that horrible Batman v Superman movie?
Honestly, the whole decision making process at WB regarding Snyder after MoS is baffling.

On the Earth where that happened, BvS was like the 12th movie of the DCU.
Also, people are wondering why some guy in a flag is trying to beat up Tony Stark, and who the hell is Bucky? in the MCEUs 2nd film, Civil War.

Why should I? We talk about multiplier and Tammy had x4.
It opened on a Wednesday.

It was leggy only in US.
Yes, and US OW is what we're talking about.

Or they didn't like WW much, it was just released in the right time and circumstances, and that's she added nothing to JL BO. Absoltely shitty BO of Professor Marston also confirms it.
Movies dont get 4x legs if no one likes em. They get sub 2x.

Maybe the audience didn't like WW much and it was success because it was released in the right place and circumstances? Any popular character adds bucks to crossover, it's not possible that it didn't add anything, but also dropped hard with other popular characters.
Wanna know whats scary? That the audience did like Wonder Woman, that it helped JL, and that JL could otherwise be opening even lower.

Tele gave the last deep wang update in which jl presales were 2/3 of bvs. From same as bvs to 65% of bvs, what happened?
Hmm, BvS had a surge as release got closer and JL didnt would be my guess.

I say one A tier character (again, all money on Steve for me), and then a slew of the B tier ones.
So Hawkguy and some scrubs?

Who's excited for Aquaman and Shazam?
A quantum of excitement for AQMN due to the director. For Shazam i'm still neutral.

Speaking of The Punisher, anybody know if the Netflix series is any good?
I put it about on par with the better parts of Daredevil s2.

I am not sure if people agree with this but I find Civil War is likely marvels most divisive film lately?
Ask friends and family randomly... to it was stupid, to its marvels best really.
I think it's still Iron Man 3. Some people just couldn't handle the greatness that was Trevor Slattery.

I'm glad my decision to skip JL this weekend and watch The Punisher instead is helping to contribute, however minutely, to this box office surprise ;).

I thought TASM Films were a perfect example of a studio being completely reactionary to what was the current trend but the DCEU might be close too.
Trying to make a "Nolanized" Spider-Man was one of the more boneheaded things to happen. Doesn't work because Spidey has a dead uncle, not a dead wife.

It was the romper. People can't resist a man in a romper.

That is objectively not true. Thor's stellar reviews had nothing to do with how it did on OW? If JL had a 95% rating on RT a week ago, you still think it would do less than 100m.
Thor had been dominating social media talk long before reviews hit, and it started when the teaser trailer dropped out of nowhere and knocked many socks off.
Advertising.

Feige's contract with Marvel is up next year. Maybe WB can poach him.
Disney already yanked Marvel Studios away from Perlmutter to keep him, so I imagine it would take some real doing for WB to outdo what Disney would.

I mean I know it’s been said in this thread already but like the multiplier for BvS already confirmed that.

So the terrible quality of JL has nothing to do with it?
Nah, the quality of a movie, especially big movies like this, rarely has anything to do with a films OW. It comes down to marketing, and if the movie is a sequel, to how the previous movie was received.
Justice League is the sequel to BvS, not Wonder Woman or Suicide Squad, and this pretty much proves that BvS was basically despised by the GA.

After the back half of Luke Cage and both halves of Iron First, I have to admit to a fair bit of trepidation about watching this show, but fortunately it's actually pretty good. About on par with the best parts of Daredevil s2.
