Justin Lin would have to work extra hard for this to be half as good as STiD.
Agreed. It would take a herculean effort to make a film that bad. Or maybe just some FOX level studio interference.

Tonight's episode was pretty good. Best of the series so far, quite easily.

Shaq sitting in front of you would be a lesser height difference than you sitting in front of me. I'm going to need you to courteously slide down a bit into your seat even in most movie theater stadium seating.
Sure thing, shorty.

As a short person I prefer there were no tall people allowed in the theater potentially blocking my view.
I can't recall the last time I was in a theater that had seating where that was possible. Unless we're talking like Kareem or Shaq tall. I'm only ~6'3".

As a tall person, I rather like when the person's seat infront of me doesn't recline into my knees.

Since there's a showrunner and synopsis now, should probably put a thread up :P.
QuoteThe Netflix Original Series “Marvel’s Iron Fist” has found its showrunner and Executive Producer in Scott Buck (“Dexter,” “Six Feet Under”)! Buck previously served as Executive Producer and showrunner of “Dexter” for the series’ final four years. He has also written for “Six Feet Under” and “Rome,” among other series.
“Scott came in with a take on Iron Fist that quite simply knocked us off our feet,” said Executive Producer/Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “We always look for the most creative minds in the field to help us bring our heroes to life, and with Scott we’ve found someone that can deliver yet another great series in the ongoing story of The Defenders.”
“I’ve always been drawn to writing complex, intriguing characters, and that’s what most excites me about the opportunity to bring Danny Rand and “Iron Fist” to life with Marvel on Netflix,” said Buck.
Returning to New York City after being missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist. “Marvel’s Iron Fist” is the fourth series as part of an overall deal between Marvel Television and Netflix, which has already released the critically-acclaimed first seasons of “Marvel’s Daredevil” and “Marvel’s Jessica Jones,” with “Marvel’s Luke Cage” premiering in 2016. All four heroes will then unite in the mini-series event “Marvel’s The Defenders.”

I think people are subconsciously putting "dude" infront of the "bro."

Speaking of JW, I took my little nephews to see TGD because my sister wasn't going to and said "I'm sick of dinosaurs everywhere, they're supposed to be extinct." Thought that was probably just her, but maybe JW did burn everyone out on dinos for awhile?
The next Expendables movie hopes that's not the case.

Man, I don't know how you can consider yourself a fan of movies in any shape or form and have never seen Rocky. That just doesn't compute. That's like not having seen The Godfather, or Star Wars, or Citizen Kane, or all the Nolan movies. Unless you're, like, 12 or something there just isn't any excuse.

Despite how good this movie was, Stallone's performance wasn't Oscar-worthy. He was good, probably much better than people were expecting. But compare that to Eddie in Danish Girl (just the trailer even) or even Depp in BM. It's just not on the same level.

Summer is Pixar's comfort zone.
So they should've released this the same time as IO?

Is it possible TGD got dumped into November?
Maybe Pixar realized something was lacking too late into production.
They didn't even advertise nearly as much for this as they did for Inside Out.
Let's get real.
This release date isn't really a "dumped" kind of date.
-
I usually don't care much for Oscar nonsense, but I think I'd be a bit disappointed if Stallone isn't nominated.

Definitely the 2nd best Rocky movie. So good.

Gonna see this tomorrow afternoon. Rewatched the first 3 Rocky movies on Netflix over the last few days to prepare.

Are you joking? It is a series low and the definition of a dissapointment.
Not familiar with Baghdad Bob?

2. Spectre (and Bond for the most part) is pretty silly stuff even if the audience skews old.
To be fair, he said childish, not silly. Bond isn't childish, more like stunted adolescent.

Honestly, I'm not sure if you can really make a movie about whalers and try to have the whalers be sympathetic to a large chunk of the audience. Certainly, if I saw this I'd be rooting for the whale.

There are a lot of Johnsons in America.
Roughly half the population.

Could it just be that the relentless young adult adaption cycle is finally starting to get to people? We've had nearly as many of these as superhero films the past few years.
Probably more a combination of MJ1 hurting the series momentum, lackluster/limited advertising, and muted hype due to Star Wars basically blotting out the pop culture sun.

3 amazing actresses in this movie.
Still called the Fucking Huntsman !
Go figure.
I think The Fucking Huntsman is the porn parody version. They've really gotten lazy with their naming conventions in recent years.

I was right unfortunately.
The writing was on the wall.
So yeah, 300M dom & 700M ww would be a victory and it will probably miss those milestones anyway.
Fuck Bob Iger, JJ Abrams & Kathleen Keneddy.
Skullfucking menchild's brains should be forbidden by the Geneva Convention.
If menchildren were the only people getting "skullfucked" by SW, I'm not sure if that would be enough to explain the drop here.

Maybe if they'd made the whale the protagonist.
