They should reboot Dolemite while they're at it, then have that and Shaft take place in the same universe as Black Dynamite.

I love this show so much. It's the only one I remember to watch every week; it's become appointment TV. I need more Peggy Carter and more importantly Hayley Atwell needs to be in more things - she's magnificent.
This show and the Flash for me. Makes me sad that there's only one more episode left.

IMHO, Avengers2 will struggle to reach the GA upfront demand that was generated with the first film. It won't be easy to get again a 200M opening. It's a 200M weekend, for God's sake!
You say this like Avengers was front loaded.

The "Marvel brand" didn't really exist back then. Not till after Avengers.

Reviews reveal the controversial scenes are nothing to write home about.
It's like PG13 p*rn which is a contradiction in term. Very tame movie.
Shoulda been NC-17. Probably gonna be one of those rare instances where the porn version is better than the non-porn version.

I want to hear your opinion not theirs. lol Why do you think it spelled 'bomb' from the get go? The pointy ears? Because it stars Tatum?
I already gave it. It looked ridiculous but didn't seem to know it. Was way too serious with the marketing and wouldn't catch on with the GA. That said, I liked the trailers and thought it looked like something I would dig, but I still also thought it would bomb.

What made you think it would be a bomb based on the very first trailer? There had been no news of the delay before the trailer release. No reviews. No box office tracking. You can't have just based it on the 'look' of the movie because it looked stunning in the trailer. It's so easy for people to 'justify' now that the movie opened to low numbers.
Umm, i'm not justifying it now. Go to the JA thread and look up the posts when the first trailer dropped. Lots of posts saying it would bomb.

JA's trailer was good.
And? It still spelled bomb from the get go. I'm pretty sure if you go back in the JA thread to the trailer launch you'll see quite a few folks saying exactly that. You can't play a Tatumwolf all superserial and expect anything else.

I am honestly kinda shocked on how badly both SS and JA performed. SS is opening below stuff like Legend of Hercules and I, Frankenstein. That is insane. And Jupiter Ascending is opening below Into the Storm and Need for Speed. Mind-blowing. Into the Storm didn't even had the 3D advantage.
I'm shocked that you're shocked. It was pretty obvious from the first trailer that JA was gonna bomb hard. Same for Seventh Son. Literally everything about those movies screamed epic tankage.

As I said, American Sniper saved one of the worst january in history in terms of actual January releases.
It was released in December, though.

I'm a little surprised they're going there with the Black Widow Program. Figured that would be saved strictly for the films. Between that and the vial of Steve's blood, wonder if there's a chance the Infinity formula shows up.

Pass. Harrison Ford bookending a movie as Indy with Pratt as Indy in the middle via flashbacks? Could work. Or they could just have Pratt be Indy for the whole movie.

Adjusted, it's bigger than AVENGERS, from some guy whose main claim to fame was writing PATTON. (Yes, I know it was a best-selling book, but still).

Not to take anything away from Mike Colter but I was holding my breath for Terry Crews as Luke Cage. I wish Mike the best and have thought for a while now he's gonna blow up big time. He's got blinding charisma shining from that smile of his and I'll be watching him with bells on. I'm just a little sad though because TC has always been one of my all time favorite actors. When he comes on the screen I just smile from ear to ear. You'll never see another actor having so much fun doing his job.
I thought for sure it would be him. To me he's the physical embodiment of Luke Cage.
Oh well. We'll get'em next time TC.
I think it was an age issue with Crews. If he were younger he would've been great. Plus, isn't he on another show? Not sure when they're shooting this, but there might be scheduling conflicts, too.
