  2. Yeah, DM2 will do fine this weekend: 44-48 million is a good range.
  3. So do we all vote on this? Or does Sims just count our list rankings, stuff like that?
  4. So DM2 is a wee bit frontloaded - it still has a relatively decent chance at $375-$400 million which would be phenomenal considering its budget. Still hoping MU inches past $300 million! Nice for The Heat... hope it gets past $150 million!
  5. It'd have to have a 35-40% drop this weekend and next to do that... but it's possible: I think 192-197 is a more reasonable range IMO. Still a ton more than the 65-70 million I expected it to earn TOTAL!
  6. It's not a kids movie if its suggestive. Innuendo is fine as long as its sparse and clever. I just think kids movies should be fairly tame.
  7. Well all I'm saying is that the same act over and over gets stale - Woody Allen used to be a fairly big director, but nowadays his films are mostly so-so, except the excellent Midnight in Paris: a real gem!I'd love to see Christopher Nolan branch out too - try comedy, animation, horror, biopic, war, even a musical if he was up for it.It'd be nice to see QT do something out of the ordinary without violence - shake things up a bit
  8. Why should a movie targeting an age group of 3 to 8 have "sexy" in it? The old Disney films didn't see a need to, same with Pixar and Illumination. Is it that bad to think kids movies should be innocent? And I do think the song is terrible - I'd rather they just write original songs. It's more marketable IMO. Plus, there's already few enough G rated movies nowadays as it is. Doesn't help that anything starring humans in danger gets a PG by default lol.
  9. Jennifer Lawrence can make the weirdest faces look so adorable lol - shes my main actress!!
  10. He's been in the Star Wars prequels, The Incredibles, and Turbo... I don't see what's wrong with G or PG movies. All of the old classics from the 30s to mid 60s are G & PG level. And I did said Quentin lol - even Tim Burton has made a family film while Mr. David Lynch shocked the cinema world by directing a G rated movie. It would help him stretch his creative juices if he did something like this.
  11. I'd just like to see QT make a G or PG rated film - David Lynch, Spielberg, and Scorsese have done it, so it's certainly possible for great directors to do it!
  12. I think Quentin Taratino is incapable of making a great movie without B movie homages, F bombs, or gratuitous violence - cue the flame wars!! lol
  13. 329/400? I'm expecting you'll end up past 500 then! Maybe 750-800 by the end. 512 is amazing too! Can't imagine ever getting there!!And there's never a wrong time to start watchin them, Jack!
  14. Hotel Transylvania used it 2 or 3 times I believe. Either way, kids movies don't need that kind of music in their advertising - its a PG-13 song IMO. Why not just make a great trailer like Toy Story 3, Despicable Me 2's teaser, and Frozen? Or a great movie with original songs?
  15. Well... I've seen Ace Ventura, Dumb & Dumber, and Liar Liar about 20 times each.Others:Toy Story 1 & 2 (probably 30-35 times each)Many Disney films (cant even count)Muppet Movie (20 times)Forrest Gump (2-5 times a year for last 6 years) so 15-30 times - I know the lines by heart lol
  16. Yep! Don't forget Shrek 1 & 2 lol! But I'd say Spider-Man 2 and X2 are still pretty great but they pale next to the classicsI'm pretty sure Mullholland Drive was on the list at some point. I thought RoboCop, Gremlins, and Goonies would be on here. Same with most of the Pixar films and arguably the 1st Shrek.I think some of the films on the list are simply there because they're old - a lot of them aren't even all time classics. Although since The Muppet Movie is on there, I can forgive omissions lol
  17. Really? Lol my bad!!And yeah those were all great performances of the 2000s that got snubbed.
  18. Wilford Brimley and Meg Ryan in a quirky father/daughter crime caper directed by Martin Scorsese with Al Pacino as an obese fast food tycoon: similar to Les Grossman lol
  19. Kids movies with "I'm Sexy and I Know It" in their soundtrack - remember when G rated songs played in kids movies: original ones too!!I also hate most potty humor (Despicable Me is a clever exception lol), cuss words that don't need to be there, shaky cam, pop culture references, and hollow plots. And when the villain's plan was to get captured lol.But the Inception music is funny so I say keep it haha.
  20. I've heard of all of them except 1 (Napoleon) but I've seen 3 of them. That's a strong top 10 though!
  21. Agreed! Motion capture and voice acting should have some recognition - but there are some that transcend this and should be able to compete in the Acting categories... Ellen DeGeneries as Dory, Robin Williams as the Genie, Andy Serkis in LOTR: Two Towers and Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and Zoe Saldana in Avatar. They all were definitely Oscar caliber performances - they made you think they were the character. It takes a great deal of talent to do that!
