  1. Nice bump! I just ordered this on demand last night and watched for my first time!! A good A, maybe an A- but probably my least favorite of Nolans. Wally Pfisters cinematography is great and I can see why he stuck around with Nolan. I think Nolan did a good job at capturing the insomnia with Pacino's acting. I have gone without sleep before and the feeling in this film felt accurate.
  2. I am afraid that this might do more like Selma numbers and less like Butler numbers. Very scary indeed.

  5. did the math and I think it should be above 100K - for the Irvine Spectrum 567 seats @ $21 each with 5 shows per day. 2/3 capacity in each show = 378 seats x $21 x 5 shows x 3 days = 119,070. I think it would be closer to 150K though,
  6. what are you expecting for Emoji OW? I am hoping it gets under 20M. I have not rooted for a movie to fail in 15 years. I am happy for all movies to succeed (almost)
  7. I am hoping DM3 cuts into Emoji's Business and has a sub 40% drop. I think it can happen and I will def show it in my derby (unless it goes under 3000 theaters)
  8. hey, at least it still bumps up our average score(s). High scores all around!!
  9. CRAP! I was expecting higher!!! More than one third of the weekend gross for Interstellar came from higher-priced premium large format screens. 368 IMAX screens grossed $13.4M for 26% of the total while other PLF screens collected $5.2M, or 10.5%. Nolan has long used IMAX cameras to film parts of his movies. http://www.boxofficeguru.com/111014.htm
  10. I checked out the 5 showings (70MM IMAX - Irvine Spectrum) tomorrow for reserved seating and I have not seen it that occupied since Force Awakens. Roughly 400+ seat capacity at $20 each = $8,000 per showing. Maybe close to 200k for the weekend. Will be interested to see if RTH posts the top grossing locations of the weekend come actuals.
  11. just rewatched this by ordering it on demand. I am giving it an A. I really liked the first half. The production design and makeup are top notch and hard to find in movies these days (I am trying to finish up Ghosts of Mars and will try to have a review soon). The music was great. ^^like the previous post shows. The last half was not good and is not "A" worthy, but this one struck a good mood in me. Takes me back to a certain time when I was coming of age.
  12. good increase for Valerian. Should see a Sunday hold that equals the real Friday # for a 17.0 weekend. 17 weekend to 1.7 previews the same ratio as Ghost in the Shell 18 weekend to 1.8 previews.
  13. Remember Interstellar's opening week. People were projecting 50% drop min and saying WOM was too polarizing. Almost hit 4x multiplier. Inception almost hit 5x.
