  1. I have a question to those of you who say it... I see you hate the movie, but did you feel ripped off? I remember when I saw Scary Movie 5 I wanted my money back. I felt robbed, but not everyone felt the same way. It still had decent holds.... BUT, some horror movies do not have good holds. And that is another example of feeling ripped off. The Devil Inside anyone?? Does Emoji give that sense of I just got screwed out of my money? Is there anything that had anyone feeling good the entire time or thinking 'so and so' would enjoy this?
  2. Lol, they could potentially even be doing last minute re-animations and rewrites just to notch that Oscar gold. The studio people would be calling in everyone for the weekend!
  3. Dunkirk - 24.1% Emoji - 15.4% Girls Trip - 12.6% Spider-Man - 8.4% Atomic Blonde - 7.0%
  4. Dunkirk - 25.7% Girls Trip - 13.7% Emoji - 11.2% Spider-Man - 8.9% DM3 - 7.3% ...I expect for DM3 to fall after the afternoon and give up position to Atomic Blonde.
  5. Dunkirk - 26.4% Girls Trip - 15.1% Spider-Man - 10.5% Apes - 8.2% DM3 - 5.9%
  6. Just watched this for the first time. I ordered it on demand, then noticed the next 3 are on IFC-HD and recorded them ... so I am Apes rich this week! I thought Nolan was inspired by and borrowed a little from the first 30 minutes with Interstellar. Baumer gives a great review for this. I can see that this inspired alot in Hollywood going into the 70s.
  7. Dunkirk - 23.7% Girls Trip - 16.6% Spider-Man - 12.2% Apes - 8.9% DM3 - 7.7%
  8. I was thinking about getting "moeday" either tattooed on my eyeball, or carving that phrase on my neck with a sharp and thin knife.
  9. I was thinking maybe it could have Jason Bourne legs. Jason Bourne did 4.238 in previews. Removing previews from opening weekend and total gross gives 54.977 OW and 158.196 total. That is a multiplier of 2.877. War for the Planet of the Apes did 5.012 in previews. Removing that from OW gives 51.251 and multiplying by multiplier 2.877 gives a guesstimated total of 147.45. Add in previews and it passes 150! Hmmmm, maybe this might be the high end considering more competition this August skewing older (Dunkirk, Atomic Blonde, Detroit, Dark Tower, Kidnap, Inconvenient Truth 2) versus last year (Suicide Squad, Florence Foster, War Dogs, Ben-Hur, Mechanic 2)
  10. Dunkirk - 26.1% Girls Trip - 14.9% Spider-Man - 11.9% DM3 - 8.8% Apes - 8.1%
  11. it will not let me do it anymore. i have tried with pictures of cats too and it wont let me paste them either (or anything). I will have to e-mail it to him and have him take care of it
  12. Movietickets: 1. Dunkirk - 28.5% 2. Girls Trip - 13.5% 3. Spider-Man - 11.9% 4. DM3 - 9.6% 5. Apes - 7.3% Fandango Pulse does not give me the top sellers anymore..
  13. It will have to face Atomic Blonde this weekend, the next test.. I doubt it will drop much beyond 33.33% (since GT did not affect it), but anyways, Atomic Blonde should be the last competition of the summer.
  14. @JJ-8 I get this message: You cannot paste images directly. Upload or insert images from URL. I think with the site update, it does not allows us to paste anything anymore. Maybe you can try pasting something (like a picture of a cat) and see if it works. @JJ-8 If you PM me your e-mail address I can send you my excel sheet and then you could copy and paste it into your Excel edge and fuss with it how you like
  15. Probably but it will barely show in the dailies. It only matters when you have a 100M+ opener attached to 100+ double feature drive in venues with a film of the same studio. Then it could add a couple million, but the bump only shows if the movie is already performing on a downward trajectory. When Civil War came out, it was unnoticeable with Jungle Book even though it prob gave Jungle Book an extra million. But when Dory came out, the bump did show with Alice 2 since Alice 2 was crashing. With a smaller opening Emoji would give Baby Driver or Spider-Man a couple extra 100K. If they decide to go with Smurfs, then you could see it add maybe 50 locations this weekend and jump up to 250K for a $5,000 average but that is as good as you are going to get.
  16. Everything is graded and ready but the site will not let me post images anymore. I will just hand type the overall result until then. That is the best I can do. Then I am gone for nap. I e-mailed the results to @chasmmi For the second week in a row, scoring well in Part B has slung Wrath up the ranks. 114000 - Exxdee 110000 - Simionski 109000 - Wrath 106000 - aabattery 106000 - Matrix4You 106000 - Spaghetti of 1000 Planets 105000 - WrathOfHan 100000 - darkelf 100000 - jj99 99000 - Jake Gittes 98000 - The Dark Alfred 94000 - A Panda of Ice and Fire 88000 - Fancyarcher 87000 - That One Guy 85000 - 24Lost 85000 - baumer 84000 - Chewy 84000 - DamienRoc 83000 - Water Bottle 81000 - grey ghost 80000 - glassfairy 76000 - kayumanggi 76000 - narniadis 71000 - Telemachos 66000 - JJ-8 66000 - Kalo 57000 - chasmmi 54000 - Blankments 54000 - Empire 39000 - bcf26
  17. 15. Will The Mummy stay above Captain Underpants? Looking at somthing... to those of you who answered 'yes' to this question, BOM originally had the Theater count for Mummy listed at 403 theaters, up 2 from the previous week. Maybe one thought it had to do with drive in double feature with Universal's Girls Trip. However the next day it got changed and corrected to 214 theaters. To those of you who put yes, it could have been close because The Mummy's PTA was up from last weeks. The only problem is..... The only problem is...Captain Underpants slipped into the 13th position which no one guessed for part C. Not only that, but it was up 30% from estimates yesterday. Each daily PTA for Fri/Sat/Sun was significantly up and it makes no sense whatsoever. But it is the final answer I guess until further. Part A: 1. Will Dunkirk make more than $45M OW? yes 2. Will Valerian Open to more than $22.5M? no 3. Will Girl's Trip open to more than $22.5M? yes 4. Will Dunkirk Open to more than Valerian and Girl's Trip combined? yes 5. Will the three main openers make more than $90M combined? yes 6. Will Apes drop less than 55%? no 7. Will Spiderman stay in the top 4? yes 8. WIll Cars 3 drop more than Despicable Me 3 (percentage)? yes 9. Will Wish Upon drop more than 62% no 10. Will The House drop more than 65%? yes 11. Will Baby Driver have a PTA above $2,150? yes 12. Will The Fencer have a PTA above $6000? no 13. Will The Midwife have a PTA above $4000? yes 14. Will The Big Sick drop more than 30%? yes 15. Will The Mummy stay above Captain Underpants? no 16. Will 47 MEtres Down stay above The Beguiled? yes 17. Will Transformers have a higher weekend percentage drop than Pirates? yes 18. Wil Spiderman cross $250M by the end of the weekend? yes 19. Will Dunkirk Open in first place? yes 20. Will the British sailors save the day using some bullshit involving a watch, morse code and the 5th dimension? 5000 Part B: 1. What will Dunkirk make for Friday? $19,736,259 2. What will be the different in gross between Dunkirk's 3 day and Girl's Trip and Valerian's combined 3 day? 2.303944 3. What will Transformer's percentage drop be? -58.866% Part C: 1. Dunkirk 3. Spider-Man: Homecoming 5. Valerian and the City of 1,000 Planets 8. The Big Sick 10. Wish Upon 13. Captain Underpants
