  1. Good documentary style movie about taming a wild animal. It doesn't raise issues about our domesticated animal problem, but the story brings to light the position we are in as a tribe against the animals. B- (8.2/10)
  2. Green Book is fun with how it toys around, but it is not winning best picture... that's going to go to A Star is Born, i'm betting EVERYTHING on A Star is Born!
  3. 96 - Captain Marvel - i was trying to detail a 97 with this, but i couldn't find it in myself to go above a 96.5. i watched it from an internet link, so maybe next time i purchase this, and the 'real digital' experience will help inflate the grading of the final edit
  4. Booksmart with two of the smallest declines over Tuesday and Wednesday. Looking for it to stay flat on Thursday. 0.7 + 10.4 = 11.1 and double Thurs on Fri with 3.5 multiplier over weekend to make 4.9 (-29%) 16.0m 10-day total
  5. are they going to call the sequel to Booksmart, Bookend?
  6. i'm trying to get through Captain Marvel but there is one of those birds in one of the trees that wont stop singing. Does this mean we can play music really loud and set off fireworks? at least the bird isn't owned by someoene
  7. it does feel like this isn't the friendliest of places though.
  8. The origin story plays as a retelling and doesn’t spend much time with it like Punisher: Warzone, but Hellboy was funner, and is like a fantasy cartoon for adults. Merlin magic sets up the story with two historical backstories, and it goes straight to the British Bureau; Excalibur. Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense. What other ancient things are they hiding? This is like Suicide squad forces against darkness, the biggest and baddest humanity has to offer, underground with magic, like Thor is in their captivity, there are talking animals, and the villain is a Voldemort-like blood queen. It is made to be a fun movie, a little too much comedy for me, but the sci-fi stuff in Hellboy and the world building almost impossible to dislike is enough for me to give it a B+ 88/100
  9. how are all the gossip crybaby geese doing?
  10. Old grown ass people in the movies represent people playing second fiddle to police and parenting. Family spinoffs. Detective parenting and do-gooders. Non-anarchist, non-Gothic, prosecutors. Who are these people? Tools? Slavers? Prosecutors are possessed. I feel bad for the millennial that get families. I hope i get a chance to tell you how to parent your kids.
  11. is there any good movies with old actors that doesn't feel like a slave-like? is this there reality tv?
  12. this got so boring it was almost intolerable. Beautiful Boy is a slow journey about a loner who graduates high school and discovers meth has corrected his feelings. He becomes broke and has to request money from his parents and becomes a day-to-day shelter child where money = drugs, and he is always looking for something to do. Alot of depression and dwelling, suffocation that leads to domestic issues, and drug tests. The kid has to discover himself and his reaction to meth so there is no use of 'das ubermensch' in his withdrawn advice giving, and Steve Carell is seeking advice on meth addiction and al-anon methods instead of 'das uberman'. It is a struggle to change lifestyles, to change an out of bounds child, and its a struggle to watch someone slowly walk into a wall. Not every movie has a doctor who tells one of the characters they need treatment and then the movie has to put them through treatment. While on drugs, don't expect to connect with anyone, don't make dates, or make investments, because relationships only develop when they are dry. Maybe you can develop muscle memory when high, but research memorizing would have to be done carefully and going the distance in relationships would be hard when wet on drugs because of that infant mindset your left with. the editing was good enough for me to give this a solid B+, but i was so relieved when this was over so i'll move it to a B and 84/100. The editing, acting, writing, cinematography was good, it was timely with all the drug stuff, but slow dramas with people running around with blindfolds on get me scratching my skin. Its like when the cast in a horror movie doesn't stop the killer the way you would. it makes me feel sorry for children with how dug in everyone is and wish people were spoiled more.
  13. r u still going to do physics retakes? p.s. don't let it fall apart on sight
  14. up to bat, center fielder, Derek Guesarcena.
  15. does anyone know the % of students that plan on working with movies? are the numbers good or bad for ourselves? what do people think? THANK YOU!!!!
  16. Us was pretty chill, fascinating, but severely frustrating to watch, symbolic, and will need to warrant a director's commentary so i can figure out what the movie is. To me, it seemed like a bunch of movie fanatics in mental asylums hidden in South America think they are superheroes, talk like animals, and invaded America through the sewers. The kids with impatience is a good theme, and what raising kids with patience means in different regions of the world. i'd give it a B for being a good social horror movie, but down a few notches for containing the plot's logic very narrowly, and for abusing the horror genre. 85/100
