  1. I think the next spin-off movie after Han Solo needs to be a Darth Revan movie directed by Supreme Leader Villeneuve.
  2. For real. My winter break for college is a little over a month and it's annoying. I have to find a gym that'll do just one month of membership (because I can't go a month without working out really), it's not enough time to really get a job, and you spend two weeks sitting around because everyone else you know in town will be working.
  3. The movie's grown on me. The imagery, the build up, the climax. It's a solid A- now.
  4. My dad thought looper was boring. My mother thought TFA was the exact same movie as ANH. (Then again, she doesn't believe in sequels, except she liked ESB)
  5. Anecdotal evidence, but I've yet to hear somebody irl say they didn't like Rogue One. I've heard many people say it was really good. Anecdotal.
  6. I'm pretty sure we were just discussing events? It's a loose term, and it'd be odd for Frozen not to be considered one. Even with "only" 400m at the BO, it smashed in DVR, Album and Merchandise sales, as well as cultural relevance. The grand picture of the movie was unprecedented and lightning in a bottle. Anyways, I still think anything over 400m is an event movie. Maybe 10 years ago or so that bar was set at 300m. It's an event because it gets a whole lot butts into soldout theaters, people make an event out of it, that's a near yearly thing. Phenomenon is different. The Star Wars franchise itself is a phenomenon, Avatar and Titanic were phenomenons. Those are a few times a decade sort of thing.
  7. If you can't recognize that Frozen was a global monster on all fronts than you're the one who's lost.
  8. Also, apparently Frozen wasn't an event because of its puny 400m gross. Yet I think we all remember how that (and Let it Go especially) would never go away.
  9. Honestly though, why are we using numbers as the criteria? My criteria is very simple, and doesn't change with inflation. 1.Is it a Star Wars Movie? If so, it's an event movie.
  10. I figured he should just be reminded that his hatred is blinding him to reality.
  11. Except he said before Rogue One opened that the minimum for an event nowadays was 500m, whichever Rogue One is nearly locked to fly pass. He's just being ridiculous because he turned out to be wrong.
  12. Yes, all of those were events. Some events are bigger than other events. Youre just being ignorant to Rogue One's success because you didn't like the movie.
  13. If it really follows TFA exactly from here on out it gets to an uneventful, normal blockbuster gross of 600m
  14. This'll be the #1 movie of the year, a year after TFA became the biggest movie of all time domestically, and it had a massive December opening with good legs to come, but this is totally NOT AN EVENT.
