  1. You can't grow indefinitely. Avengers is close to the peak of what's possible for the franchise in my opinion.
  2. I checked some numbers and yeah, it beat it in some markets but only barely, the exception might be South Korea (and obviously China). I don't believe that means AOU will increase a lot vis-à-vis the original, it's more of a sign of IM3 reaping the benefits of Avengers.
  3. AOU might top $1b OS but won't go much further.
  4. Avatar/Inception? Why put those two together? One had twice the legs and over that the total.
  5. Forgot about it including thursday numbers. That's really.... underwhelming.
  6. Avengers is no Transformers. However, i agree that it will probably increase a lot given that it "only" made about 80m there.
  7. It's already a massive success in America and Asia. Not much room for growth. Europe won't do that much better plus the Euro is weak.
  8. No. People are overpredicting it.
  9. Like 250m and higher. Even BOM and BO did. I haven't completely ruled out those numbers but they seemed high for a hard sci-fi drama.
  10. Really? In light of being all alone in space it was about connecting with a human being.
  11. Gravity definitely is not sci-fi. It is also a tad overrated. I liked it, though. Good movie with a thrilling ending (ship atmosphere entrance).
  12. I sure would. I'm not watching it because Nolan directed it but the subject matter. I'm a sucker for space.
  13. Meh, only a blind test will give us answers. There's so much make believe in video / hi-fi...
  14. That's what you might think but have you done a blind test? I own a mid class projector and let me tell you, between what i get in my home and the Hobbit in theaters, i have a hard time telling the difference. Pretty much everybody who was against frame interpolation wasn't won over by Hobbit. And i doubt Trumbull's process will change that either. Once you get to crazy high fps the differences are negligible.
