  1. It's already a massive success in America and Asia. Not much room for growth. Europe won't do that much better plus the Euro is weak.
  2. No. People are overpredicting it.
  3. Like 250m and higher. Even BOM and BO did. I haven't completely ruled out those numbers but they seemed high for a hard sci-fi drama.
  4. Really? In light of being all alone in space it was about connecting with a human being.
  5. Gravity definitely is not sci-fi. It is also a tad overrated. I liked it, though. Good movie with a thrilling ending (ship atmosphere entrance).
  6. I sure would. I'm not watching it because Nolan directed it but the subject matter. I'm a sucker for space.
  7. Meh, only a blind test will give us answers. There's so much make believe in video / hi-fi...
  8. That's what you might think but have you done a blind test? I own a mid class projector and let me tell you, between what i get in my home and the Hobbit in theaters, i have a hard time telling the difference. Pretty much everybody who was against frame interpolation wasn't won over by Hobbit. And i doubt Trumbull's process will change that either. Once you get to crazy high fps the differences are negligible.
  9. I bet in a blind test few if any could tell the difference between a good frame interpolation algorithm and native HFR.
  10. Reading the thread title i was like "did i miss the release of Battle of the Five Armies?!"...
  11. Had Titanic never happened (the tragedy), the movie would have worked just as well.
  12. I like it as well except the Wrath of Khan scene. "Oh, let's recreate that scene, except this time, Kirk is dying!" Ain't we clever...
  13. As an ardent defender of Avatar i do have to kinda agree with this sentiment. I love Avatar but if i had to chose between sequels and for instance Battle Angel i would have chosen the latter. I dunno what he can bring to the table to make it fresh and interesting from a story perspective, it doesn't seem like there are a lot of options, so humans come back and instigate another war? Troubles in Jake and Neytiri's marriage? Avatar could have stayed a standalone movie without me feeling that i'm missing something. Then again, i'm sure it's gonna be an epic event i wouldn't wanna miss. It's James frigging Cameron we are talking about here.
  14. Some folk only notice 3D if it's in your face. I however immediately notice the depth and how distinct it looks compared to 2D.
