  1. Sure but even in a market like Spain, how much would 2nd week gross amount to, $5m? Saying it's doing about the same as DOS so far (in USD) seems not to be far from the truth.
  2. Hence not apples and apples. But i don't see BOFA doing better than previous entries to be honest. About the same. So far. It needs that China increase for the billion.
  3. Dunno what to make of it. It's less than both AUJ and DOS at the same point in time ($288.5m, $278.4m) but it's not exactly apples and apples.
  4. Sorry, it's too soon to say anything. Had the exchange rates been like last year, than yeah, i would have probably sang the same tune. Right now, it could go either way.
  5. But its 3rd weekend (and a couple days after) will be substantially lower. It will likely come short of DOS.
  6. Well, i hope. LOTRs did increase less. But they also did increase less on Friday, so... *fingers crossed*
  7. Ain't that all 3-day numbers? $6m for 4- or 5-day seems small for a market like Spain.
  8. Actualy, no, since BOFA came out a week later. BOFA's first midweekdays will be more inflated since many more are off school / work.
  9. There's nothing magical about it. And it has nothing to do with lately. People don't just go "okay, going forward we won't appreciate sequels as much any more". Every movie is its own case. There have been sequels increasing and sequels decreasing. Being good is an important factor but that is not for you to decide. Going by user ratings on sites like RT, IMDB and the likes, there's no indication that Hobbit is not liked.
  10. The odds for it dropping a bit from DOS, increasing a bit or doing the same were... well, the same. Could have gone either way. I believe not many are shocked if the former turns out to be the case, just disappointed (if one wants it to do well, that is).
  11. Weekend will be probably around $45m.
  12. I was right on the money... Yeah... let's hope for a good Friday increase...
