Last weekend's $27.8 M. was too much overestimated. You can check it on BOM http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=intl&view=byweekend&wk=2014W2&id=frozen2013.htmAnd maybe this weekend was underestimated. We will see as soon as we get the numbers from every country.
On its third weekend on the hot spot in Argentina Frozen fell almost 43%. New total $7.4 M. On the other hand Frozen is back on the Top 5 in Spain almost flat from last weekend.

I think they want to try it for a short period first to check if it does not affect the amount of full price tickets sold during the weekends on that period...
Frozen is not just a winter movie. It keeps doing very good in the southamerican summer. More than 2.2 million tickets sold in Brazil and a total of $11.9 M. after 10 days. And 825.000 tickets sold in Argentina and a total of around $5.7 M. in 11 days.
I was expecting that. I saw The Book Thief's trailer before every movie I watched in the last 30 days (even the second time I saw Frozen...) And it opens everywhere. I will watch it tonight. Let's see how busy the theatre is...
Argentina: Frozen: 628.208 tickets sold during its first week (47.14% of the admissions sold in the country in the first 9 days of 2014). First week gross around $3.7 M
I've found what I posted on a brazilian online magazine. It didn't say anything about previews :-( ("A animação Frozen: Uma Aventura Congelante levou mais de 1 milhão de espectadores aos cinemas no Brasil em seu fim de semana de estreia, arrecadando 13,9 milhões de reais em bilheteria, informou a assessoria da Disney" http://veja.abril.com.br/noticia/celebridades/frozen-e-o-melhor-lancamento-da-disney-desde-o-rei-leao)
