It's officially out for both purchase and rental on Itunes and other digital streaming sites. Previously, Universal was only doing rentals (save for a brief slip up with 355 on some sites)
-
Especially if this beats Oppenheimer, which depending how hard Nolan goes with the film, might happen.
-
Ruben Fleischer is probably available, Roland Emmerich maybe?
-
You know what, yeah, let Michael Bay direct this. It'll be his most mental film of all time.

Bring the Italian Job director back.

Which tonal elements did you find similar between Reeves' movie and Nolan's trilogy?
There are some differences, namely the narration giving it a detective noir film, but this version of the Riddler feels like he could have fit right in the Nolan films. There's also the gritty, grounded tone the film has. Outside of Batman Begins, the Dark Knight films and Reeve's Batman film are less over the top and more grounded, more real feeling. . .as real feeling as a movie about Batman can be.
I kinda wish Gotham was more......gothic arty feeling. I grew up with the 90s cartoon before I ever ventured into the live action films,
It is not a bad film, I just wished for a dark, more gothic feeling Batman. Something the first three original Batman films and the Arkham games especially succeeded with.

When Fallen Kingdom came out, some people predicted even under 100M OW for it.
I remember that shit.

Saw it on HBO Max after missing it in theaters. It's alright, but it still basically felt like it was coasting on the tone and execution of the Nolan films, rather than its own unique identity.

This movie has probably the biggest dilemma I think any film has ever had in some time. There's too much budget involved to just cancel it, it would be a huge loss.
They Either
1. Keep Miller and push on through and hope for the best, like they're doing with Heard in Aquman 2 (which will likely still make bank)
2. Take a loss and release it as is as an HBO Max exclusive
3. Get creative, recast the actor, reshoot or digitally insert them in the film

Placeholder actually, Universal movies which open less than 50 or movies they think aren't doing well at Box Office go to streaming in 30-45 days.
This one should clear 50 million in previews plus half opening day.
Actually if they open less than 50 million its 14-17 days. For example Ambulance released April 8th and bombed and will hit digital for rental or purchase on April 28th.
Ambulance being available for purchase 17 days is a bigger deal as Universal previously only did rental for a period of time.
July 15th makes sense because Dominion will likely already be over a billion globally by that point.

Dude has a film that could potentially launch them into a multi-million superhero franchise and they just have to be an utter ass.
Did they forget they weren't in this film anymore?

is this really the last one ?
They said they were splitting the last film into two so....no.

At this point, people might be better off watching ASMR videos of people reading or role playing Harry Potter than seeing The Secrets of Dumbledore. Or just watching the original films.
It's really true. If you're not a Marvel movie, Disney remake (GIVE ME LIVE ACTION FROZEN ALREADY YOU COWARDS) or a great big franchise movie like Fast and Furious or Jurassic, you might as well start making films for streaming.......or reinvision them as streaming series.

I guess Mads isn't franchise viagra.
Can't wait for Dwayne Johnson to be Grindlewald next movie.

Lionsgate has been on life support lately. Right now, it really only has John Wick.

Well, looks like the summer is going to be ruled by Doctor Strange, Jurassic World and Thor. At this point, no other movie release really seems to matter for the public.
Lightyear MAY break out as counterprogramming/companion programming.
At the moment, Microsoft lists a May 24th digital release for Sonic. May 10th for Lost City and May 17th for Morbius. . . and if Ambulance follows the traditional 17ish day route for digital rental release, it would be around the last week of April.

Microsoft Store lists Morbius' digital release as May 17th
-
That was a spectacular first episode and its gonna be painful to wait for each episode per week.
I think this one could have really benefitted being a movie.
-
Morbius was gonna be my first movie of 2022, but now I'm gonna save that for Doctor Strange.
-
Is it too late to pull a Christopher Plummer and recast them?
-
Messy, uncomfortable, but also unforgettable.
Since I started watching the Oscars back in the 2000s, this has been the most memorable one. Perhaps for the wrong reasons, well, definitely for the wrong reasons. Rock's joke was tasteless, the punch wasn't right at all, but it's very understandable why it happened. Still, gonna be an....interesting week.
Well Academy, you wanted to be in the spotlight....here you go.
