  10. The Seafarer: BI felt like this movie could have been better than it was. There are several different sorts of movies that get a "B" rating. Formulaic movies that manage to prove themselves to be enjoyable despite their conventionality, and more daring films that don't quite reach their full potential. The Seafarer is of the latter variety. It has excellent animation and developed characters, but it just lacks the magic that makes films stand the test of time. It still makes for a fun time at the movies, but it doesn't carry the emotional weight of last years "Wings of Icarus."One very good thing about this movie is that the songs didn't slow things down as much as they have for others.
  11. I will take one main film and two fillers from all of you.I will be grading from F to A+
  12. Let's use hashtag #CAYOM or something to get it up there?I am Electricbassguy
  13. Big film - RivalsFillers - January Gem and Fifth Expert
  14. That's me!Reviewing. I'm going to try to do all the films this year.
  15. I can shift one of my fillers around if it helps. If there is room I will try to write something, but I want to save my bigger films for Year 3
  16. I think 11/30 often has nothing new IRL.
  17. Name: The January Gem Director: Ben Stiller Genre: Comedy/Satire/Mockumentary style Date: January 6 Cast: Ben Stiller (Eric), Jack Black (Oily/Dan), Paul Rudd (Martin), Leslie Mann (Wendy), Seth Rogen (Bob) Plot: Eric is an out of luck film director who just can't get things going. His latest summer blockbuster cost $200 million to make and barely brought half of that back. His friend Dan/Oily mooches off of him and lives on his couch paying very sporadic rent, but Oily comes up with a great film idea... to make a successful and well-received movie that comes out in January. Usually, he explains, January films are horrible formulaic chick flicks or unoriginal horror ripoffs. At first Eric is sketpical, but he takes Oily up on the offer after he keeps insisting. He says however, they don't want slapstick. At first it's just the two of them filming around their neighborhood, but money is already running short, and they have to go to Martin and Wendy for help. Martin agrees to help, but Wendy is less than supportive. It is only after they show Wendy some clips that she helps out as well. They find Bob sitting in a college classroom, but he says he does it just to "get the girls" and graduated 3 years ago... shh, don't tell anyone. Bob becomes their main actor, and Bob and Eric argue over slapstick... eventually the slapstick gets added in, but the funniest part comes from Eric's rage within the film about slapstick, which gets put into the movie. The movie becomes a modest hit easily making back the budget, but what really did it was the legs from positive word of mouth. Theaters: 2,406 Runtime: 1hr 58m MPAA Rating: PG-13 Budget: 25m
  18. All of my films I put in earlier are done, total of 5 films now.WoW felt longer than it actually is, but I think it should be decent. Going to segue into a part 2 for Year 4 or year 5
  19. Wow and Subway Nest will be done by tomorrow, and I'll throw some fillers in this weekend if we don't have enough.
  20. Year 3 movies:Legend of the Red Dragon - People compete to slay a red dragon that plagues a villagePhone Conversations with mother - William is on the phone with his mom all the time, and others mock him for it and his general awkward behavior... (this will have a plot, and I won't make a half dozen "not as bad bill movies" like I did in CAYOM A)From Darkness To Light - Intertwining story of a couple of groups of teenagers and how it leads them to drama that is hard to explain or accept as real over a period of 5-6 years
  21. What is the official turn in date going to be for our scripts?I have 3 that I finished, but only start WoW/subway nesting. I think this weekend (sunday) should be the latest deadline.
  22. I put up a satire/comedy in mid feb like I did in year 1. I think this is actually better than my "oscar movie", or at least more enjoyable.
  23. Fifth Expert Genre: Comedy/Farce/Satire Cast: Matthew Mcconaughey (The Fifth Expert/Dr. Kevin Ashburn), Katherine Heigl (Melissa), Aaron Eckhart (Oscar Lambert), Jimmy Dartmouth (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), Lisa (Meryl Streep), Professor Morrison (Dennis Quaid) Release Date: 2/24 Theater Count: 2942 Budget: $30 million Running Time: 115 minutes MPAA Rating: PG-13 for language, some sexual content Plot:
