  1. Having a hard time getting hyped for this. I loved KFP 1 and 2, saw them many times. But this one kinda looks unappealing this time around. The focus on more pandas, an unimaginative villain, the fat/food jokes again, the father drama again. Some of the parts look great, but overall doesn't look very interesting. I'd love to be proved wrong, because previous KFPs were great.
  2. I'm optimistic about this movie. Proyas has a knack for making rewatchable and very entertaining movies. I saw I,Robot more times than I can count. Not sure if I want to watch Gods in a theatre, but at home absolutely.
  3. For me the reason to not wanting to see this is the art style and the story. It's amazing how bland and boring those are judging by the trailers. It being about a very small child and a lame playdoh dinosaur just makes it look like something for preschoolers. And by most accounts it pretty much is. It didn't look funny or pretty or exciting enough to justify paying a price of admission. It doesn't matter if it's an "atmosphere-driven effort". A lot of animated movies have fantastic atmospheres and everything else to boot.
  4. Disappointing numbers for TGD. I wonder how it's doing worldwide. The movie didn't look good at all to me and I'm very easy to please when it comes to animation. Don't see any discussion of it on local Russian forums too, it's like nobody just gives a crap about TGD. And hey, Lava is pretty cool. Fun, punny and chill song. The short had as much if not more creativity than IO itself. I don't get the hate for this short at all.
  5. Then you don't visit social networks much. After the new trailer it's freaking everywhere. People love it and the hype is definitely there. When Disney starts their usual heavy promotion closer to the release, it's gonna be a smash hit guaranteed. In fact, it has all the potential to be their next big thing.
  6. Nice to see some sites giving a well-deserved criticism to Pixar for rehashing the same derivative plot formula once again. Will probably watch it on dvd, but TGD looks pretty lame so far.

  8. Sad to hear that the movie is apparently not very good. I was looking forward to it. The best Peter Pan is still OUaT's one.
  9. Yay! I still feel like they'd make more money by not dropping Marvel name from the movie. Anyway, fantastic performance. Not Frozen, but still great. This pretty much locks the possibility of a sequel.
  10. Glad to see it achieving same success as other superhero movies. It wouldn't be proper for it to fail. Totally deserves its success. Here's hoping for a sequel. The movie is just awesome through and through, but there's a room for improvement.
  11. Yay! Really glad it won. Disney is on the roll lately with one great movie after another. BH6 fully deserves its award, what a fantastic flick.
  12. Eh, to be honest, action is pretty tame in most superhero flicks. BH6 action sequences were among the most fun and innovative. And he's right, people do expect action in superhero movies. I do. If it's not there, why even bother watching it? There are some things that you just MUST have. Just like songs in princess animated movies. If I pay for a ticket, I expect certain things. It's not the most "numb-skulled" thing like somebody said above, it's what all high-budget movie directors do. Come on.
  13. Man, it's so sad that this movie doesn't get as much discussion or agiotage as Frozen or even HTTYD2 on the web. It's so awesome. Come on, I want it to get at least 700m. Got myself a nice poster, too.
  14. Big Hero 6 continued to hold strong on its third weekend, earning $20.09 million, or down just 41% from last weekend’s $34.6m gross, and crossing $120m domestic. The animated superhero adventure now has a 17-day total of $135,7m. That’s still the biggest “end of weekend three of wide release” total for a non-Pixar Disney cartoon outside of Frozen ($164m) and The Lion King ($143m) and it’s still outpacing Wreck It Ralph ($18.5m third weekend) and Tangled ($14.3m third weekend). Forbes
  15. Nice number, but I expected for it to get much more here. Big animated movies usually go over 30.
  16. It can be pretty huge in Asian territories, that's for sure. I bet it's gonna come close to Frozen in Japan. They love Disney and superheroes. Combine two and earn all the money. Been listening to a soundtrack today. Immortals song is really nice and the theme "Nerd School" is probably my favourite in the album. Just a great tune. The music in this movie is definitely something else, a lot of unpredictable melodies. "Hiro Hamada" theme is a really strange one, it starts nice and peaceful and then goes into a weird aggressive direction. Really loving the whole soundtrack.
  17. So, after finally finding time, I watched BH6 in 2d. I think it was really really nice. I was really impressed by visuals, it looks ridiculously good. Compared to that, HTTYD2 or anything else looks outdated. So much detail, it's delicious. Baymax was great and funny, loved his personality and quirks. Hiro was predictably...normal. Just a boy who grieves, he's also mini Tony Stark. Been there, done that. Not compelling enough and doesn't stand out much, especially among other more colorful guys. Still, execution is nice, so that's okay. Other characters had lovable personalities, but overall just caricatures. The movie really had no reason to be called Big Hero 6 until the very end. Japan rightly so named it just "Baymax". These people are smart. The whole story was absolutely predictable and by the numbers. I still liked it, because I enjoy simple stories that are done in a right way. It touched some usual life problems and it did it in a relatable fashion. It'll also interest many kids in science and stuff, but a bit over glorifies it. Lots of sciencey words that kids won't understand, but perhaps that will make them even more interested, who knows. I liked the brother character and his relationship with Hiro was rather touching. Baymax is a comedic gold, though. Soundtrack was pretty damn good with some unexpected melodies and themes here and there. Immortals song was great, I love when movies do stuff like that. Still, Eye of the tiger? Seriously? Not that I complain. Probably will download soundtrack right now. What I didn't like is that Hiro as a "hero" was almost useless. He just rides Baymax, that's all he does. Also, animated movies seriously need to start being more than 90-100 minutes. Come on. And the whole plot about a villain felt a bit irrelevant and should've been tied better with a main character . Overall, I liked it. It's a heartwarming little story with some really nice drama and exciting action with funny humor. I think it's one of these movies that are infinitely rewatchable. Won't pay twice to see it in theaters, but will on blu-ray. Also, probably will try to get a poster. It just looks nice. I thought the movie was better than Wreck-It-Ralph and approximately on par with HTTYD2 (because I love fantasy more than sci-fi). Even like that I don't see it becoming a worldwide phenomenon or anything like that, it's a bit too simple for that. As far as Disney animated stuff goes, it's a worthy addition and if they decide to make a sequel, it can very well be among the top.
  18. 600m? Finally. 100m more than the original movie is still good. Expected more from a sequel, but can't complain. Here's hoping it will be a success on dvd/bd, too. Thanks, based Asia, for a bump.
  19. Super excited for it. Too bad they skipped Lost Symbol, because it's awesome. Really liked Inferno book and the last act is fantastic, although the beginning is a bit slow. We'll see some badass visuals, scenery, action and story in this one. Probably gonna be one of the best movies of 2015, easily.
  20. Man, HTTYD2 is doing better than I thought. It almost grossed twice more OS than the first one.
  21. I don't think anybody thought it's gonna be popular enough.
  22. 1) Frozen 2) Aladdin 3) Tangled 4) One Piece: Film Z 5) One Piece: Strong World 6) How to train your dragon 2 7) How to train your dragon 8) Shrek 2 8) Little Mermaid 9) Beauty & The Beast 10) Eldorado 11) Hercules 12) Tarzan 13) The Lion King 14) Wreck-It-Ralph 15) Batman: Under The Red Hood
