The forums were around back then, on boxofficemojo.com

Then moved to boxoffice.com in 2011

Then created boxofficetheory in 20...13? 2014? Something like that

Any chance some of the threads may have been saved by the Wayback Machine? Probably not but there's hope.

I'm glad at least that these forums were around when Frozen came out, I still love looking back on that thread that bright me here in the first place.

Do people really care though? I mean Titanic took a long while. Avatar was delayed 12 years. It's expected with Cameron.

Sure it pisses me off but will I see it? You bet your ass off in Dolby

I have a relative who absolutely adores Avatar and she's in her 80's. I want to be able to see what Avatar films I can with her, hopefully all of them.

Wouldn't be completely surprised by that, the environmentalism and be "in touch with nature" messages can be even more effective that way.

I love how this is being discussed as a reality, hope that it happens.

Do we know if Eywa is supposed to be feminine? I don't remember if they referred to Eywa with any pronouns or not.

Eywa is referred to as a goddess or the Great Mother. Grace's last words were even "I am with her, Jake. She is real."

I like that the spirtual presence of Pandora will be explored more. Also where did grace go, does she come back as a spiritual being??

Hmm. I thought of these voice actors . Angela Bassett, Whoopi Goldberg,  Susan eisenberg( most popular voice of Wonder Woman), Sharon Stone.

I think Whoopi did a good job as the earth spirit Gaea in Captain Planet.😁 Anyone rem that one.

Oh I can absolutely see Angela Basset doing the voice, especially hearing her in the Transformers film Bumblebee.

I didn't know Whoopi voiced Gaia in that, nice! I do love her as an actress but she does have a very distinct voice and I've seen her in a lot of movies (Lion King, Sister Act, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, etc.) so it would be hard for me to unhear her and connect more with Eywa as a character.

Whoever they pick though assuming Eywa gets a voice, I'm sure she'll do great!

If you have an hour to spare have a listen to this -

The parallels between what he discusses re: Gaia's role and that of Eywa is astonishing. There are even moments where one could easily swap out the terms and it be a perfect description of Eywa.

With the knowledge that Eywa will play an even larger role in the sequels I think that topics such as the above will become even more salient.

I am also still of the mind that we may get some interesting back story around the Na'vi as not a tribal society, but a post-tech society (although I do admit that this is very unlikely to happen).

I'm hoping you're right regarding Eywa. I love the Genius Loci trope (where a character is a settIng like a planet) https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GeniusLoci, so I'd love to see Eywa explored more.

I wonder if she'll be given a voice later, and if it will be her own voice or more like speaking through the voices of the spirits. If Eywa got her own voice, who would you want to play her?

Moana's was the first teaser. Coco had it's teaser in early March and Ralph's was in late February.

Then again, Coco and Ralph both had their June trailers be glorified teasers, so I wouldn't be too surprised if Frozen 2 had the same thing happen to it. The proper story-focused trailer will probably come in mid-late September as it has for the other three, with another trailer in early November being a possibility (but unlikely).

I think it was that way for the first Frozen as well. The main official trailer focused on Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf, and made it look like a kind of road-trip journey where they'd have to stop Elsa. It wasn't until the "For the First Time in Forever" trailer that came out around September that we got a sense of the songs, the actual plot, and that Elsa was good and a major character.

End game was nowhere near the single phenomenon that Avatar was. It was a culmination but Avatar was a true 4 quad film that stood out at the time. It was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen on film and still is today.

The fact that EG came even close without being 4quad or ground breaking is incredible. Obviously I hope they re release it to finish it but that's up to Disney.

I feel like Disney would if it weren't for the fact that they own both now, so Either way the top unadjusted movie spots technically belong to them.

So what s left to adapt if we are looking at all Disney films from Snow white and on ?

    Not much it seems.

As far as I know, the ones up next to get the live-action treatment are Mulan (comes out next year), Snow White (with music by the songwriting duo who did Speechless), Lilo and Stitch, and Hunchback of Notre Dame (which has been pushed back due to the Notre Dame fire).

  9. Planning on seeing it this weekend. I've been holding back on listening to Speechless aside from that one preview that came out earlier because I want to be surprised. But I caved and listened to the movie version of A Whole New World and dang I like it a lot!

Especially at "Don't you dare close your eyes", Aladdin's actor sounds a heck of a lot like the original.

Huh, the leaves swirling around Anna in that one sticker do seem to indicate Anna might have wind powers. Though I'm thinking fire if anything would make more sense since she was born on the summer solstice, just like how Elsa was born on the winter solstice.

  11. Saw Coco and LOVED both it and the Frozen featurette! Hector was easily my favorite character in the movie. And I did tear up a bit.

(Also I have a crush on Hector. ^^)

My sister and I saw the movie in IMAX, and we were the only ones in the theater. Gonna see it again in a few hours with our friend who hasn't seen it yet.

Also, does anyone know the music that plays at the end of the final trailer? Like around 1:17 onward? I absolutely ADORE the music in the trailer but since that last one's an instrumental I don't know the name.

  12. At the end of "Let It Go" in Frozen, especially sing-along showings.

Every time Neville appeared on screen in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.  I felt bad for people who hadn't read the book and had no idea why all of us were clapping and cheering. XD
