    Awesome, they are forging ahead with it. Yes they'll be late to the "horror for kids" party but i still would rather see what Unkrich has in mind.

    Sounds like more bad news for the Pixar brand if you ask me. I know it's supposed to be Disney, but I guarantee you that this fact will be lost on a lot of critics and moviegoers who like Pixar. This will be seen as "Another Pixar Sequel," and even if it's good, I seriously doubt this will be close to the level of a Toy Story that they'll be given a pass for it.

    Don't cry for RotG.With DWA's deal with Fox, that movie will be playing on network TV every holiday season for the next decade or so. A whole generation of kids who are babysat by their TVs will watch this and deem it part of their childhood and will rank it with the likes of It's a Wonderful Life and Charlie Brown Christmas. And we will all forget that it didn't even pass $110m domestic because we'll all own it.

    Bob Petersen is the new Lee Unkrich. He's way overdue to direct his own movie. That's the main reason to be excited about this.Think why some Pixar fans were excited about MI Ghost Protocol. Not because it was original obviously, but because Brad Bird finally gets a shot to direct live action. This is similar for the Pixar geeks like me.

    Trying to come up with an "original premise" or even "untold story" is overrated IMO. It's all about storytelling. And besides the fact that I haven't seen Pixar attempt a dinosaur movie yet, Bob Petersen is one of the best storytellers they have.

    Yep. Pixar was like the studious straight A's nerd girl and Disney Animation was the house party drunk-every-day guy who got married and the guy got his shit together while the girl started drinking every weekend just to have a little fun.

    You are not alone.Though I think this will not happen until animation production costs come down. It's hard for studios to want to take a risk if budgets are at a minimum going to be $80m.

    Tangled doesn't need a sequel, because it's theoretically already part of a franchise - the "Disney Princess" franchise. Kinda like "Pixar Movies."

    So after Brenda Chapman left Pixar in disgust after the Brave shunning, she decided to go to Lucasfilm thinking she was forever free from Disney's clutches... Sorry Brenda!
