  1. Bay's last non-Transformers film to cross 100M was Pearl Harbor over 20 years ago. Pain and Gain, even with significant starpower, only opened to 20.2M. Adjusted for inflation only gets it to like 25M. It's not a good track record to have.

  4. I mean I knew it was an April Fools joke, but it didn't seem like it translated to others. Of course I'm super jaded and think April Fools Day is a disease, so don't take my thoughts too seriously I suppose

  6. Moderation @wintersoldier2021 has been threadbanned for 24 hours for continuing this runtime denial nonsense. As a word of advice, when I tell you to stop something, you stop.
  7. Moderation @wintersoldier2021 That's enough. EmpireCity has more than proven here that he has valid sources and knows what he's heard. And there's more than enough proof that he is right looking at ticket and theater sites. Maybe all of them are wrong, but I see zero reason to believe that's the case. So yeah, it's 126 minutes. And I really suggest you stop the doom and gloom about how there's no conceivable way the film can be 2 hours and that it has to be super long. It's really gotten old and we're all sick of it. And frankly, you can't prove that the film will be bad because it's two hours. None of us can prove anything about the movie being good because it's two hours. Nobody knows how the film is shaping up, what the plot will be, etc. So in the end, I really think at the end of the day, to just trust the creative team, who I think have more than earned their trust.
  8. Shonda Rhimes still undefeated! I think she's the only producer who got one of those giant Netflix megadeals and actually generated huge hits out of it. Kenya Barris only made one show that nobody liked and dipped out immediately after, and whatever the Game of Thrones boys will make is destined to be a Cowboy Bebop-style one-season wonder.
  9. Moderation Guys, we have a Morbius and weekend thread where you can talk about Leto. This is the tracking thread, so stick to discussing sales and buzz.
  10. Lindsay Ellis did a whole retrospective on 9/11 and how it was portrayed in pop culture through the years and COVID is following the same event to a tee, right down to all the South Park episodes making fun of this. Within the next 10 years, we'll get some boring Showtime miniseries about Anthony Fauci (probably starring John Lithgow or some other old dude who's super liberal), some crappy Netflix romantic drama about two lovers torn apart by COVID and then some horrible Oscar bait movie about a family struggling to survive the lockdowns and their abusive anti-masker uncle or whatever the fuck. This is gonna suck
  11. When people see "Marvel", they turn into robots. You could release anything, slap "Marvel Studios" on it, and get millions, at least on OW.
