  3. Literally the only reason people use inflation is so they have an excuse to dog on a movie they hate/want to fail even further. It's the same thing when people are all "well what about the marketing budget??????" Like yeah they are important factors, but it's always brought up in the context of people trying to be negative and downplay a film. Or worse, bragging on how their corporate product is so much more successful than their corporate product. "You know, TGM only got to what it got because of inflation. It wasn't as big as the first movie really" "Avatar actually sold less tickets than Endgame because of the 3D surcharge. Endgame's really the best UwU" "Well Avatar had bad exchange rates, which meant it sold more tickets" "Titanic is the true king of the box office. It outclasses all y'all" "Well you're not paying attention to Gone with the Wind. It's sold more tickets than any of your faves"
  4. I mean...yes, but it still looks a little bit off from how he looks in the games in terms of the textures and face and details. It's like when that Avengers game had the characters look like the actors but also not at the same time. Just as a reference...

But yeah, this is far less rosier. Ignore the 58 tickets now removed, and we only sold six tickets. Not sure why tonight was a bad night for the film, but this stuff happens I suppose. And now the comps are at what they are supposed to be at, which is what really matters.
  7. Halloween Ends Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-9 and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 76 731 15294 4.78% Total Seats Sold Today: 18 Comp 1.146x of A Quiet Place Part II Thu+Fri T-9 (22.19M) 2.697x of The Conjuring 3 T-9 (26.45M) 1.433x of Halloween Kills T-9 (6.95M) 1.677x of Scream T-9 (5.87M) Just as a quick clarification on why today's numbers are soft, part of the issue is that there was an error the past few days with my tallying. A couple days ago, one of my theaters pulled their IMAX showings of Halloween Ends and Black Adam. I assumed it was a glitch and that the IMAX showings would be back up later. But that never happened and Black Panther 2 doesn't have IMAX at this theater. I contacted the theater management, and they said their IMAX theater is closed for renovations and won't be up until Way of Water. So I had to remove 43 tickets from the Seats Sold section. And yeah, this meant we missed out on a real good 61 tickets sold. However, transparency is more important than fancy numbers and things are now fixed accordingly. I apologize for not looking into this problem earlier.

  10. Guys, movies that are coming out in the summer of 2023 are getting test screenings. Even then, do I have to tap the "David Sandberg test screening video" sign again?
  11. Yeah, unless it's a case where it's a sequel to a decades old movie, I don't really consider or think about inflation at all when it comes to how good or bad I feel a movie did. Like it's all still money at the end of the day and attendance has consistently been on the decline for years now. Does it really matter if this movie sold more tickets than that movie? Granted, I'm saying this because I remember all the annoying drama in 2019 where Cameron fans and Marvel fans were arguing about whether Endgame or Avatar was more successful and how inflation helped Endgame, but 3D inflation helped Avatar and blah blah blah. That kind of petty fighting really does turn you off on the whole inflation argument.
