I have given up even bothering to watch streaming shows these days. Never really watched much TV outside of sitcoms and cartoons granted, but I have not seen a second of the new Stranger Things season, I still don't really know what Squid Game is about, and I really just can't bring myself to stay invested. The only new shows I keep up with are Only Murders in the Building and Abbott Elementary (both are phenomenal shows btw), likely the only upcoming one I will bother with will be that Lord of the Rings show, and I can't remember the last time I even bothered watching something on Netflix that wasn't Seinfeld. Feels nice to be free of this pain tbh, because now I'm actually getting around to watching shows I've never seen before (Nearly done with season 4 of Sopranos, planning to watch Alias when I'm done, hoping to get into some real classics like I Love Lucy) and I've been returning to shows I haven't seen in years. I've gotten back into watching Black-ish for the first time in years and it's amazing how smart and well-written that show is. Would have missed it completely if I cared about Ozark like a normal person.

First world problems obviously, and I'm sure that the youths are probably fine with all this, but I feel it has to suck to be a kid who wants to get into Marvel or Star Wars or DC these days. Things have gotten so insular that if you just want to watch a new Star Wars show or a new Marvel movie, you have to spend hours of your time watching everything that came before it just so you can get an idea on what's going on and get invested in the story. And by the time you're done, you now have to get to the next new piece of content where you have to catch up on everything yet again.Kids now have to spend tons of their free time doing homework just to enjoy a 2 hour movie or 6 episode TV show. Do these execs not realize that homework sucks and kids hate it? At least this will hopefully lead to a rebirth of New Hollywood...hopefully...maybe.

The issue is that Philly overindexes Black-led movies. Using horror titles like Scream and Halloween likely just leads to inflated comps yet again. -

Well a good majority of the people posting in this thread, especially the more frequent posters, are Marvel fans, or are merely neutral towards their feelings on the franchise at worst. At most, people who dislike MCU movies probably only posted like once or twice in here. A lot of people here arguing and talking about the MCU having issues for whatever the reason have expressed enjoyment of a good chunk of Marvel movies in the past or just find discussing the franchise and box office in general interesting. Should they not be allowed to post negative stuff, even though they are fans? That doesn't seem very fair.

Thor: Love and Thunder Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report Final Count Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 1 223 13676 39959 34.23% Total Seats Sold Today: 3,026 Comp 0.445x of Spider-Man: No Way Home (22.25M) 1.098x of The Batman (23.71M) 0.664x of Doctor Strange 2 (23.91M) It seems Philly underperformed a bit here, judging by how hard people are gunning for high 20s for the preview. Just gonna hope for the best I suppose and not assume this is a bellwether. -
