  1. joke /jōk/ noun a thing that someone says to cause amusement or laughter, especially a story with a funny punchline.
  2. To be honest, even if everything went right and there was no pandemic and it came out in 2020 and Disney wasn't in charge, this was destined to drop like a rock. The first movie saw "eh" reception, this novel's nowhere near as iconic as Orient Express, the cast (Gal aside, don't throw rocks at me) is nowhere near as exciting or starry. There's just zero hook or appeal to this one.
  3. YES Guy did such an amazing job playing the ultimate douchebag. A pity the film was lost in the shuffle (or I guess maybe it's a good thing considering all the disc horse over Licorice Pizza)
  4. Was just about to post that too. Thank the Lord we're not back to this 3 PM bullcrap anymore.
  5. The Deadline article literally says they have a new Monsterverse movie in development.

  7. Shin Godzilla did fine despite the 2014 movie. There's also all those anime movies which came out over the last couple years, so I don't think Toho cares about competition. More likely, Legendary wanted to do the show, and since they have ownership on the Monsterverse, they just went with the company that gave them the best deal. Could also be a case where Legendary is still mad over the HBO Max stuff.
  8. I know they scrapped the idea and I'm sure the Disney+ show got canceled for a reason, but I still think a Disney+ Tron series, or even a made-for-streaming movie, is the way to go for the franchise. It's a property that is big enough to get headlines, but not so big that it will sell as a theatrical film. The fans are happy and newcomers can stumble upon it while browsing Disney+ and give it a fair shake because it's free, and hopefully it leads to more Tron content in the future.
  9. Everybody's reporting the 3-hour runtime on this. Even Endgame didn't get this much coverage over how long it was. Not sure why this is a big deal, but good on the PR team I guess.
  10. Honestly I thought the carnival stuff was a chore to get through. Even for what's supposed to be full of wonder and excitement, it's pretty boring and directionless. I feel like making this a series would have made things worse, because then it's just more carny fluff. I want more of the Cate Blanchett side of things, not less.
