Well yeah, but nobody is expecting that. There's nobody saying "Batman's awareness is on the level of Spider-Man, therefore it'll make as much as Spider-Man". The only person doing this is CJohn, and it's debatable if he's really a person. Like with every tracking source, people understand outside circumstances and that comparisons aren't 1:1. Still, Quorum does indicate people know Batman is coming out and a lot of people are excited for it. Did Joseph Kosinski piss on your porch or something? You keep saying TG2's gonna be this epic failure.

Well it's not even playing in theaters. And even then, is it really hard to think that awareness would be stronger, at this specific point in time, because that's what they are tracking, for a movie that's debuting in a little more than a week than two films that barely have a sliver of marketing?

Ehh, a big part of the game's appeal is still you controlling Joel and feeling as if you are protecting Ellie and are a part of this journey. I do agree that it's easier to adapt, but I think something is still lost when you lose that personal connection. I do have more faith in TLOU however and can see that one turning out okay.

I said studios don't care about theaters anymore, not that theaters are dead. I don't think bringing up studio greed is "bait". Everybody knows studios are greedy.

Watching that really confirms the hurdle that comes from making Uncharted a movie. The whole appeal of the series is how cinematic it is as a game and that you're in control of a big-budget, Indiana Jones-style adventure. When you take away the interactive part, the whole thing's just kind of goofy and unengaging and weird. That Last of Us HBO show will probably suffer the same fate, though I'm rooting for both to prove me wrong.

Taking this here so as not to clog up unrelated discussion from the Tracking thread. And honestly, I don't buy it being "too soon". In its original date, NWH would have been on its 7th weekend. It'll make, what, 15M that weekend? Less than that probably? It's the perfect time for some big, shiny new thing to make a splash. The discourse and interest with NWH will have been dried up and that audience would be hungry for something new and exciting. Might as well give those Spidey fans a new Spidey-related thing to chew on, since the appetite would still be strong and that demo doesn't give two craps about Omicron.

That seems counter-intuitive. Wouldn't you want this film closer to NWH so it's easier to ride off the coattails of Spider-Mania?
