  1. Pikachu doesn't have IMAX at all...at least right now. Endgame's entirely shot with IMAX cameras, so IMAX probably wanted to push that movie for a long time. I could see a scenario though where Pikachu and Endgame share on Pikachu's first week. When Grinch and Overlord came out on the same day, the former had IMAX during the day, while the latter had it during the night.
  2. Your post made me realize just how many movies I have to track in the coming weeks. Right now, all I have to worry about is Avengers. But after that, I'm pretty sure between Pikachu and Toy Story, I'm about to track at least one movie per weekend. Lord give me strength.
  3. That Godzilla prediction's not from Deadline, it's from BoxOffice Pro. I know you want to start some conspiracy, but at least proofread your facts before you state it.
  4. https://variety.com/2019/film/news/cinemacon-buzzmeter-hot-cold-las-vegas-lion-king-1203181460/ Buzzmeter's up. From best to worst: Lion King Toy Story 4 It: Chapter Two Gemini Man Good Boys Secret Life of Pets 2 Terminator: Dark Fate Rocketman Joker Ford V Ferrari Detective Pikachu Uglydolls Yesterday Aladdin Motherless Brooklyn Interestingly, it only starts getting negative from Yesterday and below
  5. Also, Long-Range Tracking's up: https://www.boxofficepro.com/long-range-tracking-godzilla-king-of-the-monsters-ma-rocketman/ Godzilla: 40-60 range. 46/110 Ma: 15-30 range. 24/63 Rocketman: 25-45 range. 37/165 That Godzilla # tho
  6. Aquaman's maybe not as big as the DC Trinity or even The Flash, but he was definitely recognized by most normies. My mother knew who he was before the movie came out, and she's never read a comic book or seen many Marvel or DC movies. He's been in a bunch of cartoons, and for years, he was the butt of a lot of jokes and parodies. Even Cartoon Network (which is owned by Warner) made fun of him back in the day.
  7. At the very least, the second weekend drop is bound to be ugly. Spider-Verse had rave WOM yet dropped 54% against $113M worth of openers, almost all of which was direct competition (even Poppins was still a PG movie). Star Wars is likely to open almost double that number (Cats is probably gonna hit like 30M too or something). Feel like a 60% drop is the floor. But I'm sure post-SW it can recover, unless Call of the Wild mania sweeps the nation. For the longest time, I've been predicting a Deadpool -> Deadpool 2 style drop, which would translate to about $355M

  9. Runtimes w/out credits and attachments for next week: Hellboy: 1:48. Attachments are John Wick and Anna (Trailer debut) Little: 1:43. Attachments are A Dog's Journey and Yesterday No clue about After or Missing Link just yet
  10. If Shazam follows Venom (had 5PM previews, which isn't far from 4PM all things considered) 5.9 19.2 Fri inc. previews 15.5 Sat 12.6 Sun 47.3 Weekend Follows Aquaman (also 5PM previews) 5.9 18.2 Fri inc. previews 14 Sat 12.3 Sun 44.5 Weekend Follows Spider-Verse (5PM previews, early access screenings) 5.9 21.3 Fri inc. previews 21.9 Sat 16.3 Sun 59.5 Weekend
  11. Well, back to what I do best... Movie/Time Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Avengers: Endgame N/A ***10,258 30,275 24 days 23 days 22 days 21 days 20 days 19 days ***7pm-12am 22 days before release: 2693% of Captain Marvel (4.1B) Third day of presales: 908% of Captain Marvel (1.4B) Cumulative from 22 days before release (including Endgame's incomplete Wednesday): 75% of Captain Marvel (115.4M) So...yeah, like every other movie I've done this with, I don't have enough data to actually have anything definitive. And for that matter, the fact that this Thursday # is leaps and bounds above every other 2019 comp I have so far complicates things even further. But this is obviously doing great business and will probably do very well (I know, shocker)
  12. https://www.phillyvoice.com/what-you-will-see-philadelphia-shazam/ @Nova A fun article that mentions all of the actual Philly shots (or at least scenes that hide it very well). Also, we need to email Jim Kenney so he can actually create Chilladelphia Winter Carnival.
  13. Fun fact: The Drago dinner scene was actually shot at my college campus.
