  3. Now I want this to happen, because the karma is hilarious.
  4. Bookmark this post and laugh at me when I'm wrong, but the Next Goal Wins trailer reminded me of this post and I think we have our next winner here. Seems like it checks all the boxes of wholesome and emotional fun. It's frankly destined to be the TIFF Audience Award winner, Taika still has a fanbase within the industry. We obviously can't say it's a lock, but I think we can't ignore it as a contender.
  5. I can already picture the Jojo Rabbit redux where this gets a bunch of Oscar noms and everybody acts annoying and judgy about it all throughout awards season before we all move on to something else. This will be fun.
  6. Feel like Mermaid's best comps, or at least the ones I'm using, would be Sonic 2 and Mario. Those are also younger-skewing titles that played well to non-white audiences and are all established franchises with large fanbases that would buy tickets in advance. I would also say stuff like Avatar 2 and Black Adam works, even if the audiences aren't exact, since they also skewed super diverse in audience metrics and still had strong GA appeal.
  7. Just got to that part on my rewatch (still amazing stuff, holy snot). It's so weird there's a whole angry chef subplot that's just there for silly slapstick, but I approve 100%.
