  1. I guess today's going to be a streaming-focused day in the news, as I just saw this: Not to be that guy but "we want people to discover the twists for themselves" sounds pretty...shaky
  2. I know that one of the HBO Max shows has Hiro Murai as a director, though I forget which one, and I'm hopeful that's good. I wasn't crazy for Guava Island, but he directed some of the best episodes of Atlanta (I'm sure he also directed some of the best for Barry, but I haven't seen it yet), and it'd be dope if he gets more work.
  3. Speaking of new streaming platforms Obviously we don't have a whole lot of details yet (there's a conference tomorrow for investors that should give us new details about the service), but Disney+ is looking to get 60-90 million subscribers by 2024, so that sounds like a good target. Let's see what the service has in store.
  4. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-53 and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 1 164 7,696 28,790 26.73% Total Seats Sold Today: 79 We're finally at sub-100 here, but it was bound to happen at some point. Still seems to be selling well enough however, though again, I can't really compare it to anything. Even Charlie's Angels I gave up tracking on at this point.
  5. Let's see what the next final days have in store
  6. My Mom called me up yesterday to talk about some school-related stuff, and she mentioned she was excited for this. I was too scared to tell her that the movie was a no1curr.
  7. There are a couple Regals near me that have Last Xmas up, but that's about it. Stuff like Midway and Playing with Fire have more shows at the moment.
  8. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-54 and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 1 164 7,617 28,790 26.46% Total Seats Sold Today: 139 It's a tiny bit frustrating that there's nothing to talk about comps-wise, but it's still selling way above 100 tickets per day, which has to mean something.
  9. Terminator: Dark Fate Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-5 and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 42 204 9,513 2.14% Total Seats Sold Today: 8 Comp 0.169x of It: Chapter Two 5 days before release (1.77M) 0.148x of Joker 5 days before release (1.96M) Adjusted Comp 0.434x of Hobbs & Shaw 5 days before release (2.52M) After what seems like some solid improvement the last couple days, this was a very mediocre final Saturday, even if you want to argue the film's coming down to earth from overperforming yesterday. As of now, I'm hesitant on anything over 35M, let alone 40M.
