  1. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-24 and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 23 81 6,075 1.36% Total Showings Added Today: 2 Total Seats Added Today: 134 Total Seats Sold Today: 1 Still doing its thing. Still boring.
  2. Joker Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-10 and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 79 597 16,691 3.58% Comp 0.688x of It: Chapter Two 10 days before release (7.22M) Adjusted Comp 2.273x of Hobbs & Shaw 10 days before release (13.2M) This was a very good first day. That IT 2 comp might make some people pause, but it is important to recognize that It 2 had a couple weeks worth of presales to boost its numbers at the same point in time. I need a couple more days of course, but 10M+ previews, I feel, are still very, very possible at the moment.
  3. Abominable Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-3 and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 37 46 5,400 0.85% Comp 0.489x of Dora 3 days before release (612K) 2.706x of Racing in Rain 3 days before release (1.2M) Sales seem pretty mediocre for the time being, but to be fair to Abomianble, this isn't a movie that is designed to have strong previews. And of course, we have a couple days away. But again, nothing really interesting to say here. And now, the big guns.
  4. Well, a couple hours later, the movie's already sold 444 tickets. It's already more than half of what It2 garnered at the same point in time, and It2 had way more presale days. Don't know what this means for tonight, but it's already going strong.

  6. Kinda just scanned through sales, so it's not really super accurate, but it's made about 161 tickets within the past hour and a half, which I guess is fine. Gotta wait until the day ends to really get a good grasp though. One thing of note is that the 4PM sales have been almost non-existent. Almost as if maybe starting previews at a time when its target audience is just getting home from work is a stupid idea or something.
  7. As for Joker, showtimes are aplenty here. 71 showings have been posted thus far. Don't know how that compares to other movies before presales, but it's still higher than the every movie's final showtimes, apart from Lion King and It2, so obviously very, very impressive

  9. I don't know, I feel like we said the same thing about Ninjago and Storks, and those movies barely crossed 20M.
  10. Bit of a shame that Abominable looks to be a nonstarter (feels like it'll open under Smallfoot at this point). We could have had 7 consecutive weeks of a movie opening to over 30M (It2, Hustlers and Downton already did it, Joker could triple 30M, Gemini Man is tracking to about 28-30M, which could go higher if reviews/later marketing are strong, Maleficent/Zombieland both have decent shots at reaching 30M+). Ah well

  12. LMFAO at Ansel saying "my mom liked it" It's not as embarrasing as H*rvey W*nstein saying Alicia Vikander's mom's friend liked Tulip Fever, but it's pretty close
  13. To be fair, the article mentions that the writer was unsure if the pre-preview sneaks were included in there or not. Not sure why they haven't updated it yet, now that we have the information, but whatever.

  15. Last thing STX’s Hustlers and New Line’s It Chapter Two will fight over fourth with around $16M a piece. That’s a -52% second hold for the Jennifer Lopez stripper pic and a third weekend decline of -60% for the Andy Muschietti-directed Stephen King sequel.
  16. https://deadline.com/2019/09/downton-abbey-rambo-last-blood-ad-astra-hustlers-weekend-box-office-1202739525/ More info to come shortly, but....whew
  17. Abominable does drop next week. Uni already traumatized kids seeing Lion King, might as well do it with a movie they own? 🤔
