  2. I remember when I saw Lean on Pete for the first time, and I had hopes that Charlie Plummer was gonna be big and go places...at least this boy's young.
  3. Unhinged Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-5 and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Unavailable Total Seats? % Unavailable TOTALS 0 28 172 2551 6.74% Total Showings Added Today: 1 Total Seats Added Today: 86 Total Seats Made Unavailable Today: 39 For people confused at the Total Seats? discrepancy, I actually forgot to account for a couple of showings, so that explains the spike there. Anyways, it's better than the last couple days, so at least this hellscape is following the general increases of opening week. Still obviously things are Up in the Air starring George Clooney. Expect more theaters to add showtimes tomorrow, though we'll see how many will open. And before anybody asks, yes I will track New Mutants when it has tickets up tomorrow, but I will not use Unhinged as a comparison. Reportedly New Mutants has Thursday previews, and simply put, Thursday and Friday are two completely different beasts that it would be unfair to compare the two. Sorry to all excited for comps.

  7. I don't trust people who use Reddit. It's part of my religion, Chalanism.
  8. Pretty slow week in terms of watching stuff, though Phineas and Ferb is still solid stuff, and Mom and I only have two episodes left for Handmaid's Tale Season 1. Also watched the original Dumbo in my quest to watch every Disney+ movie in order (can you believe I wasn't popular in school?). Still quite adorable, though nowhere near as ambitious or cinematic as Walt's previous outings at the time. And the uncomfortable racism is still very uncomfortable 😬

  10. Although come to think of it, I remember I was at my grandparents' house back in March 2007, and I saw on like CNBC or something a box office report mentioning that Blades of Glory and Meet the Robinsons debuted at #1 and #2 respectively. I don't know why, but that's always something lodged in the back of my head.
  11. I remember getting mildly intrigued with it in 2009 because BoxOfficeGuru had their posts reposted on Rotten Tomatoes around that time. But about late 2009 when Avatar hit the scene was when I really started to get invested in the whole thing.
  12. Honestly the one true disappointment was Interstellar not hitting $200 million. Papa Nolan really should have mentioned the film featured the greatest, most beautiful young actor working today to really sell it to the masses.

Though interestingly, it made the least tickets, only racking up about 7, while all the others saw a considerable jump from yesterday's numbers. Do with that what you will I guess.
  14. Unhinged Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-8 and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Unavailable Total Seats? % Unavailable TOTALS 0 18 42 1184 3.55% So I found a loophole here. Instead of just reporting on whether seats are sold, why not just count all the "Xs" I see and use that as a reference for the coming weeks? It's not perfect, but it's certainly better than nothing. I also used AMC's reported 30% capacity as a reference for all three theaters I tracked, all AMC. And yeah, this is the first of its kind, so I have no clue what these numbers point to. I will admit that of the three theaters now open for sales, all of them did hit double digits, which I think is admirable even if only a handful of showtimes sold anything. We'll see what momentum this has in the future. BTW, this is looking at opening day Friday, so again don't try and compare this with any other numbers I've done before. If Unhinged gets Thursday night previews at the last minute, I will scrap this data and restart from scratch.
  15. Hey remember when I said I'll only do pre-sale checking if there are Thursday previews? Get ready in about an hour or so mah bois

  17. @lorddemaxus and Tracking Team peeps: I'm in a conundrum mah bois. I saw some AMC theaters got showtimes up, and despite Unhinged not having Thursday previews as of yet, I wanted to check things out of morbid curiosity. And the issue comes from that the way things are considered "unavailable" is not good. On Fandango, Atom, and AMC's website, seats that are unavailable, signified with a little "X" include both seats that were sold, and seats that will be unsold because of social distancing. So that makes things kind of hard for yah boi. For showings that only have one or two "Xs", that might not be so hard to grasp what's a real seat and what isn't. But if we see a lot of tickets sold, that's a conundrum. I'm already not gonna bother looking at my old data, so do I just count all the "Xs" until social distancing ends or movie theaters go kaput (whichever comes first)? Or do I just do some weird math with how many "Xs" there are? This shit is so annoying and kind of counter-productive. Wouldn't you want different markers for both sold seats and social distancing seats so people can see they're not gonna be near anybody? It's just stupid!
