I doubt Godzilla vs King Kong will stay with that date. A major CGI spectacle, I believe they’ll need more time to finish.
They already moved it. I liked the May date better but they’re sticking to this March date for sure. Filming is done... just sfx work now.

Oh man a Universal Monsters Reboot and Godzilla vs Kong in the same month? Someone pinch me I'm dreaming.
Not just the same month but the same weekend. WB and LP won’t move GvsKong again. Not sure why Universal picked this date?

I want to add to that I feel like the 50,000,000 to 55,000,000 projection is pretty accurate with the information that we have right now. However I feel like this it will be a very dark up heavy movie by a lot actually I think it’s going to add an additional 10 to 20,000,000 just from walk up so I can see 65 to 70 to 75,000,000 opening weekend just because of this.
I’m using voice chat that’s why it’s putting in the whole numbers LOL

Remember Godzilla is really the first big Hollywood disaster film of the summer. I think it’ll be very walk up Heavy just like its predecessors

I was waiting for like one last big twist... the ending where they followed the 3 Starks(including Jon) was cool. I was like wait.. they aren’t showing Bran. Considering where the last shot of the show was, it would have transitioned perfectly to a shot of Bran in his chambers... his eyes suddenly glowing blue. He was/is now the Night King! Boom... end of show with one last oh shit moment. But nope... just ended.

Another potential franchise for Legendary has been snuffed out
I was just thinking. Legendary has had some terrible luck. Really only the Monsterverse has proven its worth. Ironically Godzilla 2 is out soon...

Well there is a holiday Godzilla’s second weekend so that will sort of offset the dark phoenix affect a little. Plus if the movie delivers the action like it apparently does I don’t think it will matter it’ll do go to China.

only 1B for G19? People have been calling 2B.
I mean, that’s nothing to sneeze at but obviously hoping, and think it’ll do more.

Looks like people have to pay for them, as expected:
Why so early? That’s basically a totally different release date unless the totals for the showings arent included in the actual box office totals

Godzilla 2 will have previews on May 25th
When you say previews are they “paid for” previews or just free showings to generate buzz?
-
Hopefully just a glitch

Damn some nice ps numbers for Godzilla right off the bat. Would love to see a 100-150m usd opening weekend.
-
Hoping presales come in good but wasn’t Skull Island very walk up heavy?
Loke i said before Godzilla could end up being in a perfect spot.. especially if Aladdin crashes.

So someone help me out here what will the tariffs exactly due to future Hollywood films in the near future?
For me obviously my concern is the Godzilla film. However A China company bought stakes in the film to help promote it and Wanda owns legendary so not sure how much Godzilla is actually affected by this.
Edit: I want to add that this is strictly a box office question nothing to do with Trump and politics.
-
So how would this tariff issue actually affect some upcoming Hollywood films? For example a Chinese company actually bought stakes in WBs/LPs Godzilla KotM film to promote it in China... and of course Wanda owns LP.
-
Any idea when Godzilla presales could start? Im assuming that a 200+ run there is looking good.
-
Should of used some classic sonic music! Using Eggmans classic theme when introducing him would have made it better...
-
My son LOVES Sonic... like it’s part of who he is right now. But this movie looks terrible... I don’t even know if I should show him trailer....
-
I don’t think you can really compare G14 to KotM. 5 years is 5 years and this new one is way more action oriented

Woudnt that be terrible for Godzilla? If Dark Phoenix opens to 100M over 4 Days we can probably say goodbye to Big G's chances at 250M+
To me it seems Godzilla has a shot at at 150-180m opening(weekend)in China. I think 250+ is probably easily going to happen.

So what’s the update on Godzilla’s preview day? Which is tomorrow?
