  1. Every movie went up or dropped little. As for JW. Multikino and Helios dropped JW from this week so expect A BIG DROP
  2. You underestimate how much can good marketing matter. Yes of course there are movies you would have to stupid to not open them big (50 shades) but a ton of non obvious movies sell bad in Poland if they are distributed by the majords and not independents (monolith, kino świat). Also warner in romania is actually distributed by indie distributor if I remember right and you see the result that is much better than in Poland if you compare local potential. Also you think poles are stupid yet superhero movies do badly here. Hell Academy contenders do better than 3/4 of them. Also Polish comedies don't always do well. If you had a boxoffice.pl account you would see they fail quite often
  3. I predict a 64%+ drop. It's going to be steep. Warner and Fox are really bad at marketing their movies this year. FFs this movie did over 50k viewers in Romania! While this probably did 60 without marathons. Now I've seen Spy and fox will kill this movie. I don't like Paul Feig or Melissa McCarthy but it's a really good movie and literally no one wants to see it. It may open sub 25 or even sub 20.
  4. Mad Max will have a steep drop. They had maarathons in 3 big cinema networks. That probably added 10-20k viewers so real numbers are lower. I was in MK tarasy, one day after opening at 20.30 and half of the room was empty.
  5. Avengers is even below my expectations. So whoever on those forums wanted 300+ will have to waaait a long time. It's 215k (+/- 5) can't remember the correct number.
  6. The weekend had pretty bad weather so I hear the results are comparable to the previous week.
  7. It was a very good start but to be honest I'm not surprised they are crazy. FFs even The boy next door opened decently in Poland and that was a movie I thought would not be released in Poland since it's a us minority movie. The only big dissapointment this year is Cindirella. It's better than OZ yet it will obviously do less. I've heard big cinema chain brass claiming it's a 800-1000k movie after exhibitors screenings.
  8. It's either a Mistake and they think they have a movie of 50shades caliber or the brass in US told them to do so.
  9. That has nothing to do with development. Marvel movies improved over time in Poland too. They also improved in Japan and US. They just grow from movie to movie.
  10. Like Japan? Korea? France? Germany? Being more developed does not equal liking Marvel more. They had a very good release date and little competition on week 2. That explains it
  11. We have similar taste as other countries. We are different than US but we often have similar results to the rest of Eastern Europe and with some more arty films that aim only towards big cities we see movies like western countries. Fast7 exploded in Poland. You are completely wrong about that. In most countries the difference between ff6 and ff7 OW was 1.5-2x. In Poland it was 2.5x the FF6 opening. That's a huge explosion. That only shows 50SG was super huge, not that other films weren't big. You can't compare any movie to the biggest opening in history. Also superhero movies don't do well in many EE countries, hell marvel doesn't do super well in some western countries as well. The performance of Marvel movies is similar in many euro countries. Also stop complaining about local titles. It's nowhere near as bad as you think. Germany and France are also dominated by local movies and we are nowhere near what happens in South Korea and Japan where local movies destroy anything from US. 300k for Avengers would be amazing and 390k for FF7 is amazing. FFs. That's more than Listy do M, More than Miasto 44, More than Bogowie. How the hell is that a bad opening? I bet avengers will be in the 270-320k range. Higher would be surprising. FF7 had the Paul Walker boost. It will drop close to 60%. Not because people don't like it but with super huge opening you always have a frontloaded movie. The drops will be smaller in later weeks but I don't remember a huge non animated opening that didn't drop 58% and more.
  12. More yes. The thing is not that much more. They have high negative viewer numbers
  13. I'd be surprised. FF6 was way more liked than Avengers. Though the other movies might have boosted it more remember it's the 2nd best opening of the year and there were very little over 250k openings in recent years. Privately I liked FF7 but I'm a bit dissapointed. I like the new camera tricks but some of the camera work was a bit messy and it made the action look almost Greengrassy. Also the group got smaller instead of adding new characters and despite them needing to rise stakes the action setpieces seem smaller. FF5 was the best for me but here the garage/parking scenes in the end were underwhelming. It should have ended with something bigger. The building jumping was nice but the highway/bus were ok only compared to how good initial action was in other series. I think it all boils down to the fact they wanted to cram as much as possible from other parts. We have a new movie subgenre - Nostalgia blockbuster. Skyfall did the same though imho it was way more detrimental to the series. Here I enjoyed it though FF5 is the best. I also worry in 2-3 movies they will have to turn to comedy.
  14. 2h animated movies are stupid expensive. Especially if you want to make them look good.
  15. Disco polo won't even reach 900k. Chappie will do what other moderately liked 30-35k movies did. I say it does equalizer results. Ex Machina won't hurt it since it is released on very few screens (no MK Zlote Tarasy ffs) As for yellowbird - look how many kids movies perform well this year. You have a kids movie almost every week and they all do good. Listy do M was filmed 2 or 3 days ago in Arkadia. Wonder who will distribute it. They aren't connected to ITI (now VUE) so it's not as abvious as before.
  16. See the weekly results for Disco Polo. They are strangely low. 110k after a 250k opening. It's a bizzare result.
  17. I know 3 people who have seen it and they all liked it despite them hating polish comedies. The script was also decent if not great. It's not a typical silly comedy.
  18. I'm yet to meet someone that really listens to it. Though my friend group is specific and I get more understanding when I talk about Jodorowsky then when I talk about Kanye
  19. It needs to open above 150k to do that. It's a strange movie since a ton of people will be very negative towards it because of the topic. Will probably see it tomorrow but if it wasn't for the free tickets for early screenings I'd probably pass.
  20. Friends who have seen Disco Polo on yesterdays premiere claim it's very good. x7 multiplier may be the minimum.
  21. It's 70 and the movie is a tad below 1.4m viewers. Deadline is as often inaccurate.
  22. They had 4.6m$ after first weekend so that's less than double. Still it should be around 1.5m viewers
