I love that we feel the same way, considering that you and I both go so far back when it comes to following box office (and are among the few "originals" that remain). But really, it's baffling how people let their expectations color everything else. Judging by the reactions of some here, you'd think it was the release of Cutthroat Island, not friggin' How to Train Your Dragon 2. Geez!
LOL the people using "How to Train Your Dragon 2 is too dark" as the excuse for its relative underperformance are really grasping at straws. Yes, the movie has turned out to be something of a disappointment at the box office compared to most expectations. Move on.
According to Variety, it's looking at around $8M.

You have to believe we are magicNothin' can stand in our wayYou have to believe we are magicDon't let your aim ever strayAnd if all your hopes surviveYour destiny will arriveI'll bring all your dreams aliveFor you
The premise for Think Like a Man Too feels really tired, even by sequel standards (all of the couples who got together in the first movie go to Las Vegas and engage in a bunch of Hangover-lite wacky schenanigans? Seriously?). Can't say I'm surprised that the returns look to be diminished.
Jersey Boys doing between $8.5-10M on opening day would be the shocker of the summer for me so far. I really thought it was shaping up to be a dumped dud.
Completely vanishing for a few years (or only appearing in really tiny movies no one saw) after her big breakout in 2004/2005 and not striking while the iron was hot probably didn't do her career any favors.
