  2. Again, don't be disappointed if WW "only" does 90-100m on OW. It will likely have strong legs, but I can't see the OW being as huge as many are predicting even with the reviews.
  3. I agree, but vice versa we also can't know that it will have great late legs. Personally, I think it will hold up well, but the competition will most certainly hurt it.
  4. I still think the people predicting 140m+ OW and 400m+ total for WW are asking to be disappointed. It's happened so often on this site before and I feel people are getting ahead of themselves because of the reviews. Don't be disappointed if this makes Man of Steel numbers.
  5. So GotG2 has now officially passed Avengers' admissions and it could have enough juice to pass Avengers 2 (2.423m) to become the most-attended MCU movie in Germany. What a success story.
  6. I think and hope that there's gonna be one last Pirates film before they call it a day and Alien is gonna continue, but without Ridley Scott at the helm.
  7. Why is it so important to you that Transformers will beat Pirates at the box office? Tramsformers still won't make nearly as much as BatB, F8 or TLJ, so it won't even come close to winning the year. I'm pretty sure Paramount doesn't give a crap whether TF5 makes more than Pirates 5 as long as it makes a profit, so why do you care?
  8. I think it will make a profit, but not that much. I hope and think Disney will still make a sixth film and reduce the budget by cutting Depp and Bruckheimer's salaries in exchange of a backend from the box office gross.
  9. Congrats to BatB for passing 500m DOM and congrats to GotG2 for passing its predecessor DOM, OS and WW. Disney just doesn't miss.
  10. Where's all this hate for The Rock coming from? He's literally one of the coolest and nicest guys in Hollywood and one of its biggest stars. Just because he made a movie that's flopping and getting savaged by critics does not mean his career is in jeopardy. It'll be a small bump in the road for him and this sudden hate towards him is ridiculous.
  11. Personally I would say the first option, but I've learned with Rogue One that you should never underestimate Star Wars (in the U.S., at least).
  12. Considering Pirates 5's ending, I hope it makes enough money for Disney to make a sixth film and then call it a day.
  13. It's amazing how a couple weeks ago some people were saying that after its OW GotG Vol. 2 would barely match its predecessor's total and now it's gonna achieve this feat in its fourth weekend.
  14. Here in Germany, Pirates is also pretty much the biggest Disney franchise. The first three movies sold more tickets here than nearly all Pixar or Star Wars films and destroyed the MCU.
  15. 75m-80m 4-day wouldn't be that bad for Pirates 5. A sizable (and alarming) drop obviously, but not as bad as some have feared.
  16. There seems to be a confusion about @Mockingjay Raphael's post earlier. He didn't say that Avengers had mixed reception, he was responding to another poster who was claiming that JW had mixed reception and showed The Avengers as a counterpoint to that claim since Jurassic World's run was quite similar to The Avengers. Just wanted to clear that up.
  17. People aren't tired of sequels, they're tired of sequels that either nobody wanted, sequels that follow a bad-received film and/or sequels that come too early/too late after the last installment.
  18. Wih the Avatar Sequels being delayed to infinity, I still think at least Episode IX and maybe Solo as well should move back to December. Solo would have Aquaman to deal with, but that's not nearly as bad as its competition in May/June 2018. Those few weeks are going to be a bloodbath.
  19. JW definitely did not have a mixed reception among audiences. It managed a 3x multiplier despite opening to over 200m. Even with the help of summer weekdays that's still mighty impressive and shows that word-of-mouth was great.
  20. True. The percentage rating can be slightly misleading at times. I personally enjoyed all Pirates movies at least somewhat, so I don't think this one will be any different for me.
  21. I still can't quite believe the reviews for Pirates 5. I never expected it to be rated fresh, but a score in the 20s seems awfully low. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I can't imagine it being that bad. Sometimes I just don't understand critics. Can't say anything about Baywatch.
  22. I agree with @John Marston and DAJK that the openers will still do rather well. Reviews don't matter that much for either of them.
