Not really. I love the trilogy for it's brilliant idea. But Anakin's turn to the dark side wasn't explored enough and that idea is the reason why I like the PT in the first place. I want to see how he is changing up close, with Obi-Wan beginning to notice. Well, it depends on the person. Of course you'd have to have some personal ambitions in the first place. But wouldn't you do anything, and I mean anything, no matter how horrible, for the people you love? As for Padme being okay with him killing the sand people, so what? I see no problem with that. He was more important to her than those people who killed his mother. The more pressing moral issue was the things Anakin did to become a Sith in order to save her (the Temple March). It kinda was the end justifies the means and not everyone can appreciate having someone willing to kill for them. From this point of view the moral conflict was interesting.

No, you didn't understand what I meant. I don't want something focused on that ark. I want an adaptations of one of the hundreds Jedi missions Obi-Wan and Anakin were sent on. An adventure movie that could also take a more personal, intimate look at Anakin's turn to the dark side, without all the political and social plots.

Transformers: The Last Knight | 6/21/2017 | Big Budget, Weak OW?
James replied to Neo's topic in Box Office Discussion
Gosh, those cars look sweet! -
There's nothing wrong with that, excepting that fact that the show doesn't have enough Anakin, when he's the most interesting character by far. I'd like a movie about him before turning into Vader, an adventure-type film with him and Obi-Wan on a mission of sorts that brings up his turning dark ark only in the background.

Total Lifetime Grosses Domestic: $16,400,000 45.7% + Foreign: $19,500,000 54.3% = Worldwide: $35,900,000 The Conjuring 2 made 19.5m OS on Friday alone. Lol. I think it can manage over 60m for the weekend. And it still has to open in UK, France, Germany, Russia, Spain, Italy, Japan plus a few other territories. The original made 180m OS. Thinking this one makes at least 200m.

Lights Out (Horror July 22nd...produced by James Wan)
James replied to CaptainJackSparrow's topic in Box Office Discussion
With this and Conjuring 2 WB will have to big horror hits this summer. Thinking both can reach 100m. -
I find the China overreaction incredibly funny. Like, the drop is actually a bit better than No Prisoners predicted yesterday, yet everyone is losing their minds. That 216m number is still huge and after two almost record breaking days (the only movie with two 300m yuan days) it is bound to have burned off some demand. And to quote No Prisoners again: Even if it drops hard on sat 35% and sun 50%, it'll get to ¥1.025B/ $156m. And after that, it wound need a horrendous multiplier not to reach Zootopia... I mean, I love the guys in the China thread, but the rollercoaster is the same as the one we have every time when there's a big opener state side. Huge expectations, then meltdowns, then hope, then meltdowns again and in the end acceptance.

It was six years ago. And the market was much more backloaded then. Which just makes it even more obvious that TC as a franchise has good internal multis. And it is a far better comparison than Deadline's idiotic comparison with the first Purge movie which 1. was an original movie 2. despite having a stronger midnight than the first Conjuring had a way weaker weekend - 34m vs. 41m). At a minimum, being a super frontloaded sequel, TC2 will open to 34m. But that won't happen. There is nothing to indicate that in this franchise so far. If Annabelle, with awful reviews and a way weaker midnight managed 37m+, I think TC2 will manage 40m.
