  1. Disaster for Alice. By far the worst Disney live-action movie adaptation by far when it comes to OW. Things also look bleak for TMNT2 and Money Monster opening this weekend. On the bright side, Warcraft, opening next week, has previews this weekend and it is doing insane business everywhere. I am really really curious how much above 100.000 adm it will go for the OW. Right now it seems sky's the limit. Either way, it is locked to have one of the highest opening weekends ever.
  2. Considering HP already made the list of course SW won't be on it. No one in their right mind would consider that SW had a bigger cultural impact than HP.
  3. Leave LOTR and TF. The others are unworthy anyway (I'm okay with SW as long as we talk about the PT)
  4. Of course not. It is a trilogy of it's own even if it takes place in the same universe. Same with TH/LOTR.
  5. Oh come on. It is the most influential franchise of the 21st century by far. Plus the highest grossing franchise in history.
  6. I've read mainly The Legacy of the Force series and the series before that, I forgot it's name. Anyway, 11-12 books total I think. I though TFA was ok. Definitely better than the OT, but I had big problems with the main character (very cliched) and how weak the bad guy was, especially considering the movie borrows some elements from The Legacy book series and there Ben (or Jacen) is truly formidable and quite the brilliant mastermind.
  7. Lol you guys You know I love stirring shit up. That, plus the fact that I have an... unconventional taste in movies... And you can rest assured, I'm 22 now. As for my general hate for Star Wars, it is actually a trolling thing. I love SW. Actually, considering I've read a lot of SW books I likely know more about this universe than some people here who are die hard fans which is kind of ironic. But when I say I love SW, I mean I love this world, especially the one in the books and the prequel trilogy. I have no love for the original trilogy though because I can't manage to find anything good in it. I don't like main characters who are all good so Luke and Leia are not my thing and I also don't like Vader. He's too simplistic for my taste. And yeah, despite some acting problems, I liked Anakin for the good/evil internal struggle he has going, similar to Magneto in the X-Men franchise.
  8. Well, good movies didn't. With one or two exceptions, all the movies made before 2000s are either unintentionally hilarious or horrible looking. Also, putting anything before LOTR is a sacrilege.
  9. I don't know about DOM, but the trailer reaction OS was great. I expect 350-400m at least from OS.
  10. This got an insane reaction from a mostly adult crowd at my X-Men: Apocalypse showing. Easily the best reaction of all the trailers. I think OS it might actually be the biggest movie of the year.
  11. Well, I bet that was a lot of work and it shows, so good job! I may not be happy with the results (but let's not even go there, since Top 2 is...), but I admire the detail you went into with this. A bit said to see FOTR so low though.
  12. Loooooooooooooooool. Intertellar had deep characters, a deep story, great acting (and directing) and amazing FX. They are not even close.
  13. ROTK so low is a shame. I really hope Fellowship wins. And what's so bad about Interstellar being on no. 7? It is likely the best space opera ever by far.
  14. I had such a blast with this one. That is how you make a great superhero movie. It was fun and dark and filled with memorable bits. I loved Apocalypse, but more than anything else I loved Magneto. He is probably the best CBM character ever. Also, despite what everyone is saying, I really dig the new Jean. That Phoenix sequence. OMG. And the soundtrack, especially the intro one, was genius. Overall, I LOVED IT. Fox is doing such an awesome job with this franchise. A+
  15. Just got back from watching X-Men. What the fuck? Why is this getting so much hate in some circles? It is better than all CBMs this year and probably the best X-Men to date. I just had the best time in theaters since the last Hobbit. Glad I decided to ignore the critics (again lol).
  16. Where did I say anything about Jack? Ofc he is the star. Piartes wouldn't exist without Depp. But Bloom shared the spotlight in the original trilogy. Bringing him back is a plus.
