  1. Im seriously thinking what movie can take the OS OW record. There's none in the near future.
  2. OS OW is 314m by DH2 without 100M coming from China. I am happy.
  3. Huh? In the Chin thread Olive specifically said it cant hit 100M even with actuals.
  4. God damn it!! So it broke the WW OW record. Ughhh. Buuuut... this got 100M from China and it STILL failed to set a new OS OW?! LOOOOOOOOOOOL. Also, it means it only made 210M ouside of China, which is even more pathetic. Ughh, that felt good.
  5. C'mon, I need those OS numbers so I can see the WW OW. It either breaks it or I'll get banned.
  6. Not likely, unless Disney does some fudging. EDIT: I forgot DOM. Yeah, it has a chance.
  7. Yes. The original made 40m smth, but the exchange rate is way worse than in 2012. It will have to sell almost 2x the number of tickets to achieve that. People in the Japan thread predict in the range of 25-30m.
  8. There's 0% chance of that. In fact, even 950m is hard. And rightfully so. It's not deserving.
  9. No it's not. It is what it is supposed to be unless you want them to completely detach from the books. I don't need continuous action to be entertained. GoT is first and foremost a "political" drama/fanatasy.
  10. But do not hate GoT since it's better than any movie franchise outthere right now
  11. I agree with you, but even RTH bases his numbers on estimates, estimates that can go down, even for Friday, let alone Saturday. And I wasn't referring to the fact that JW is your fav franchise, just that you are so stubborn with this whole situation. Theres always margin for error.
  12. I havent seen it but I don't think it can be worse. However, considering how much some people here hype it, I'm pretty sure it won't meet my sky high expectations. That, and I don't really like Pratt.
  13. I hope JW takes the record only because TA certainly is one of the biggest fails in movie history and does not deserve it, but if the Sat number comes closer o the Deadline estimate somehow, it will be hilarious to watch your reaction
  14. It's much less variable though. Just look at the exchange rate situation for example. Here, the third Hobbit movie for example sold 50% more tickets than its predecesors, but the gain in USD was much much smaller. Yet, it was a much larger event. And that's not even talking about IMAX, 3D and economy.
  15. I agree that USD is what matters because this is the most used currency, but I'd really like if we had admissions. For example, here the admissions are the first thing annouced which is kinda the obvious thing to do. You could argue one movie is bigger than the other because it made more cash, but the gross is so influenced by a multitude of factors it will never be reliabe. On the other hand, the number of people seeing a movie is an objective way to look at it.
  16. But it doesnt work that way, does it? It's about shared audience. Yeah, 8-9m people will watch the GoT finale, but that doesnt mean that the other 200 smth million americans will go see JW. JW and GoT share the same demo, that's why it will have an effect, bigger or smaller than we think.
  17. It's nice to see people are just as protective of their favourite franchises as I am of mine (read: you cant be reasoned with), even though when December will come it will get really annoying around here...
  18. Um... Clash of the Titans? And even Wrath of the Titans after that.
  19. Oh, c'mon let's not act like Pratt is some big movie star. His name is barely recognizable. But maybe he's bigger in the US.
  20. Sure, SW is that big OS... Jeez, I cant fuckin wait for December to shut all you people up. Damn Americans.
  21. Yeah, you tell me about it. I have to wait for Fantastic Beasts and hope WB will manage to open it the same time in China as in the US to get the title again. Still, the OS OW record won't go down. JP would need to make 184M in 2 days (Sat+Sun), which is very unlikely (from what I hear even it's Sat increase in China is muted).
