  1. It's kinda crazy to think only 5 movies made over 800m OS without China.
  2. What a lovely... movie. How come I haven't watched this till now. Wow. Just... wow. It was... Its definitely the best movie I've seen this year. By far. What I loved the most is the sheer sense of insanity. I mean, c'mon, it makes you wanna fuckin scream. And the soundtrack is god-ish. A+ Tele should be happy.
  3. Because its Lionsgate we're talking about, a small studio that got suddenly catapulted to the level of the Big 6, beating some of them constantly in the last few years thanks to the discovery of some mega-franchises: Twilight, Hunger Games. And now those are almost done. They don't have a choice. Plus, with the home release and TV rights they should still make a profit.
  4. Yeah, Ted 2 seems like it will be huge here too. I has better presales than JW.
  5. Just went for groceries and saw Minions cereals, Tic-Tac and even Ice Cream. Also, yesterday, my gym trainer was wearing a Minions tank top and he's 30 something.

  7. Was there a holiday on Monday in most markets? Because if Tue is 13m, then it means the Monday was 34m, which I think is bigger than it's first Monday. Even including China, it's still abnormally big.
  8. WEEKEND BOX-OFFICE Students finishsing the exam period and bad weather this past weekend finally gave us good drops and a good weekend in this shit Summer (seriously, it is horrible; no title this Summer, except for maybe 'Age of Ultron', made the audiences go WOW; we'll have to wait for 'Minions' and 'Mission Impossible' to save the situation; MI5 is lock to win this summer by far. - Jurassic World eased 17% in it's second outing and reached a very good $675k after 10 days (it entered Top 10 for 2015). Assuming sunny days don't completely kill it, it should finish with at least $1.1m, which was pretty much my prediction for it at the beginning of the year. - In second place, Inside Out debuted with 29.919 admissions and $151k. That would not sound so bad if it wouldn't be the widest release in history by far (121 screens), ahead of 'Big Hero 6's 108 screens. I really don't get how Disney/Pixar are so incapable of marketing a movie here. Like, every single animation from them which is not a princess movie either disappoints or bombs in the worst possible way (the 'Toy Story' trilogy and 'Monster University' are still memorable for their utterly shit runs). Still, it is a family movie, so it might have good drops in the next two weeks, until 'Minions' comes out and annihilates it. - Insidious: Chapter 3 nearly doubled the last entry in the series, but it still bombed with 13.726 admissions and $59k. - San Andreas incresed 5% in it's fourth weekend and reached $548k, demonstrating very good legs after it's not very impressive opening. - Entourage dropped 34% from its opening weekend and now stands at $126k. - Spy increased a big 34% but the cume is a middling $181k. - Ex Machina flopped. It made only $26k over the 3-day weekend. - Mad Max: Fury Road continues to be an audience favourite. In it's 6th outing it eased a light 11% and reached a great $844k. - Survivor placed 9th. - Tomorrowland closes the top, after a 1% drop. It stands at $292k, which is pretty bad for an original SF here. Top 10 Next week's openers: - Ted 2 - La famille Belier The first 'Ted' was a hit here back in 2012, opening with 23.500 adm and $113k on it's way to a very good 125.000 adm and $520k. Expect 'Ted 2' to be bigger. An opening over 30.000 adm seems like a lock and 40.000+ adm isn't out of the question either. Top 10 for 2015 Also, Top 20 Highest Grossing Movies Ever Two 2015 movies made it into the Top 20 Ever so far: 'Fast and Furios 7' on no. 3 and 'Fifty Shades of Grey on no. 17. As for the Yearly Box Office, 2015 runs 5% ahead of 2014 in admissions, but 16% behind in USD, thanks to the horrible exchange rates.
  9. This is too low. He's definitely one of the most morable characters ever.
  10. Everytime I see the trailer it gets quite a bit of talking from the audience. I think it has a really good chance of beating MJ2 here.
  11. It had a bad second weekend drop, but after that, OS at least, it had good / very good drops. -44% third weekend, -5% in it's 4th (when it opened in China, but the drop in the other territories was in the 30% area). After the 4th weekend it still added almost 170m. Overall, it had a 3x+ multipiler from OW, which is not bad at all for such a huge opener. However, DH2 had way less competition than JW is about to have: Minions (possibly 700m OS), Inside Out (possibly 400m OS), Ted 2 (300M+), Terminator (200-300M, maybe more) + Ant-Man in 3 weeks.
  12. So a 155.5m OS weekend, a much better second weekend than DH2's 120.2m. JW OS total after 2nd wknd: 583.1m DH2 OS total after 2nd wknd: 559m Atm JW has a lead of 24.1m. DH2's second week: Mon: 18.6m (577.6m) Tue: 17.9m (595.5m) Wed: 19.5m (615m) JW is playing much more like a family movie, with very strong weekends, but weaker weak days.
  13. Im not overly fond of Pixar, I hate the OT and I like the prequels (well, Ep 2 and 3 that is). So not so weird.
  14. Im not saying it must. It's just the most similar run and I like comparing BO numbers.
  15. I am ready to accept that with ROTS. But the rest and esp the OT. But maybe it's just my generation. Also, your tastes are questionable Also: So you like the Dark Side Baumer? Good. Very good.
  16. Of course I do. They are French. So full of hate towards IO Baumer. So much hate. Nz, nz, nz.
  17. Yeah, I remember. FF7 made that so AoU has to make more. Is it so hard to comprehend that SW7 will make less than JW? Considering how much JW is doing, there are more chances SW will make less, than it doing more. But its ok, I know you are a fan. I forgive you.
  18. With China included after Thrsday, the OS total is at 427.6m OS. DH2 was at 452.7m through the same point. The difference increased from 18.3m through Wed to 25.1m through Thur.
  19. Can you please give me whatever it is you are smoking? Cmon, are we really comparing the biggest movie phenomenon in history to JW? The budget could have been 500m and it still would've been MUCH MUCH MUCH more profitable. It made 2.8b WW. JW will likely make only half of that. Not counting another 400M in home market just DOM. This is just stupid.
