  1. But this is completely contradictory. Earlier you were saying a family can't go every 2 weeks because they have to buy tons of food. Now when I say they don't need to buy food, you claim they have to because it's such a rare occasion. 2 weeks is a rare occasion? Make your damn mind up.
  2. Before opening weekend: Marvel fan: "Can't wait for the new Avengers movie, Civil War!!!" After seeing a 'disappointing' box office take: Marvel fan: "Look, Civil War isn't even slightly an Avengers movie. It has never been marketed that way."
  3. yeah that seems to be the consensus. I thought the second half was great though, just not quite as great as the first half. In an ideal world the whole thing would be set in the hotel, but regardless I thought the movie was fab.
  4. As I said: Avengers : 623M Spiderman: 262M TDKR: 448M Total 1.33B Now correct me if I am mistaken, but I think 1.3 billion is more than 1.1 billion.
  5. Yeah, Civil War is the third Avengers movie. I don't really know why people are trying to argue otherwise... and it's not like the numbers are far off Ultron. Opened to 12M less, will finish about 40M less. Given Ultron dropped from the previous movie, it makes sense that this one drops a little from Ultron.
  6. Wtf are you talking about. There were 12 weeks between Deadpool and Civil War. In 2014: Winter Soldier, Spiderman 2, and X Men released within 7 weeks of each other... In 2012: Avengers, Spiderman, TDKR released within 11 weeks In 2011: Thor, X Men, and Captain America released within 11 weeks
  7. the whole thing is a clusterfuck, so many big movies coming out they are just gonna eat into each other.
  8. Lol i would do that but I will have work the next morning, can't watch a film that starts midnight. Especially since I am going to have an insanely late night the day after due to the referendum, for which I am doing the overnight count.
  9. I mean... I don't see big movies underperforming, with the exception of Batman v Superman. Deadpool, Zootopia, and Jungle Book are smash hits that far exceeded most people's expectations. Civil War is performing just as expected, while BVS did take a big hit. If you want to widen the range of "big" to anything with a budget over 25M then sure there have been some disappoints, but that's always the case. I mean even if you look at all wide-release movies, the only ones that have "underperformed" against general expectations are BVS, The Boss, 13 Hours, and Zoolander 2. That's not exactly left right and centre.
