Not really. There's no case of 'critics just agreeing with each other without judging it on their own' here, reviews were universally negative from the get go. -

Three big kids films being released within a month of each other, plus Batman v Superman opening against Zootropolis, I think there's gonna be some collision and their box office will take a bit of a hit. Zootropolis and KFP3 will obviously do well given the easter holidays but BvS will have an impact.

I have been both raped and unemployed, and I can tell you with absolute certainty that I know which one was worse. Please stop trying to speak for groups about whom you know nothing. It's fine to say you didn't like the film or w/e but why are you even making this dumb comparison between two completely different things?

It's not as if Alicia Vikander was terrible though. I thought Danish Girl was pretty crap, and she was evidently in the wrong category, but you can't really complain that her performance won.

"relatively small scale" - did you watch any of the movie? The whole point is that this is an issue that was way bigger than anyone could possibly have imagined, that it was taking place everywhere and being covered up from the very top of the church.

Only got 12 out of 21 correct, way worse than last years predictions. I did get Spotlight and Mark Rylance right, but I gave way too much credit to Revenant in technical categories over Mad Max. Way I had it figured, Revenant would get Director and Actor but it would get Production Design, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing. Whereas Mad Max actually took all those, I didn't think it would be going home with anything other than makeup.

This could actually be a first. It's rare for a director to make two films a year, let alone in a situation like that.

Yep, imo it is the only worthy Best Picture winner since Lord of the Rings.
