  1. 44. 107 POINTS "I have to go pee due to boredom." Released: 2010 Directed by Edgar Wright Edgar Wright's no stranger to cult movies, and this one's found quite the fan following over the past five years. SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD bob-ombs on to the list at #44.
  2. well, yeah, just three in terms of winning the main 5 awards. But also in terms of general sweeps like TITANIC which won 11 awards. but yeah, it's damn impressive.
  3. Panda, did your future self just push his hand through the walls of reality and type that statement on your keyboard again? Because your future self knows you are just so damn right.
  4. 45. 106 POINTS "The work of a critic is easy..." Released: 2007 Directed by Brad Bird Let me just orgasm over Brad Bird. ... ... ... There. That seems representative of this forum's views on Ratatouille. More seriously - widely regarded as one of Pixar's best movies, the off the wall RATATOUILLE has stirred up enough laughs to earn its place at #45 on our list.
  5. 46. 104 POINTS "The limb is mightier than the thumb." Released: 1934 Directed by Frank Capra One of few comedies which have swept the Academy Awards, this prestigious movie from a legendary director is every bit as funny as it was when it was released almost a century ago. IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT stops off at #46 on the list.
  6. Disagree. I don't really care what everyone else likes; the fact that everyone likes it doesn't make it promising, to me.
  7. Merely being on the so-called black list does not make a movie "promising".
  8. Gopher is right as usual. Half an hour after watching Sicario I had forgotten most of it. I still have no idea what the plot was. In one ear, out the other, totally forgettable movie. Part way through the film I spent a few minutes looking at the walls and floor of the cinema, as it was much more interesting and engaging than the movie.
  9. If you have a fear of heights like me then you should see the movie and be blown away by what cinema can do.
  10. Yep. The original script is hyper-sexist and the guy is creepy as fuck. Like he's one of those men who will get exposed for 3 minutes on a TV show about sexual predators.
  11. The last Peter Pan live-action movie was a massive bomb too, in fact the two movies may end up making very similar amounts of money. I don't think spending $150M on a Peter Pan movie was a smart idea regardless of how the actual film turned out to be (which in this case is pretty good anyway) Last time I checked, when a movie is a huge hit we don't say it's only because of the director. So why should we do the same for a huge bomb. Audiences are not interested in Peter Pan.
  12. Yes, it's a drama/romance on board a spaceship. There's virtually no action or spectacle that would draw moviegoers as easily as Martian, Gravity, Interstellar etc.
  13. And who says the failure of the movie is Wright's fault?
  14. Are you guys disconnected from reality? Britt Robertson looks her age...
  15. I'm not trying to argue bout the film, I'm just confused as to how Baumer thinks the character is good or ambiguous in any way.
  16. He is not morally ambiguous. He's not "somewhat good guy". He is killing tons of people throughout the film and ignoring the law - and then he shoots some kids. Sorry but if you murder a child and you don't kill yourself then I cannot understand the character on any level.
  17. Eh, at least it's on the list. This top 50 is out of over 350 films submitted by everyone, so it's in the top 15%.
