Erin Brockovich might not have made it to the list, but Soderbergh still manages to get into our list with his 2000 crime film Traffic.
RT Consensus: "Soderbergh successfully pulls off the highly ambitious Traffic, a movie with three different stories and a very large cast. The issues of ethics are gray rather than black-and-white, with no clear-cut good guys. Terrific acting all around."
Wow. I originally had this at 103M, I'm really quite stunned. I didn't think the film was particularly good but it's great to see a massive opening weekend. This is the biggest OW in a year and a half!

It won 3 Oscars last year and received an outstanding reception from both critics and audiences, Whiplash is at #55.
RT Consensus: "Intense, inspiring and well-acted, Whiplash is a brilliant sophomore effort from director Damien Chazelle and a riveting vehicle for stars J.K. Simmons and Miles Teller."

More superheroes now, with Sam Raimi's acclaimed film, Spider-Man 2.
RT Consensus: "Boasting an entertaining villain and deeper emotional focus, this is a nimble sequel that improves upon the original."
Eh? Look back through the list, CA2 isn't on there. Only superhero films that have been on there are Iron Man, TDKR and Batman Begins. I don't particularly love Iron Man but it's a decent film, at least until the last half hour.

This rather unique film places Tom Hardy not only in a car but in the Box Office Theory top 100.
RT Consensus: "A one-man show set in a single confined location, Locke demands a powerful performance - and gets it from a never-more-compelling Tom Hardy."

Another superhero success to venture on to our 100 is the time-travelling X-Men: Days of Future Past.
RT Consensus: "Combines the best elements of the series to produce a satisfyingly fast-paced outing that ranks among the franchise's finest installments."
Guys I don't see why you are complaining about Ethan going on about Transformers when you are the ones arguing with him.
You all know his opinion of the movie, if you can't deal with him defending it then don't argue about it.
Well he has talent in making popular movies I suppose, yeah. But in terms of quality I think he has zero talent, though I think he is something of an auteur which you could say is talent.
Paramount can give him all the money he wants, doesn't mean I have to think he is a quality filmmaker.
Btw don't expect me to explain why I have these views, im drunk and with my bff so not going to spend time oj that. Another day...
I am very vocal about sexualisation and mistreatment of women in any film, and I'm fairly sure other forum members will vouch for me there.
I treat Bay the same as everyone else. I just happen to think he is sn absolutely terrible filmmaker in virtually every respect, and as a result I often find his films terrible too.
