  2. Paul Dano is one of my favourite actors at the moment, he's stunningly good in everything he does.
  3. #47 39.32% Director: Steve McQueen Written by: John Ridley The first Best Picture film to be either directed or produced by a black person, and the 47th best film since 2000, is 12 Years a Slave. RT Consensus: "It's far from comfortable viewing, but 12 Years a Slave's unflinchingly brutal look at American slavery is also brilliant -- and quite possibly essential -- cinema.
  4. For some reason all the 2014 films seem to have been shoved into the same section of the list. From #68 to #48 there are 9 2014 films (#100 to #69 there are 0). There are still 6 2014 films to go, but it could be worse. DotPotA deserves to be here though.
  5. #48 38.68% Director: Matt Reeves Written by: Mark Bomback, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver The most recent - and one of the best received - installments of the Planet of the Apes franchise puts its stinkin' paws on our list at #48. RT Consensus: "With intelligence and emotional resonance to match its stunning special effects, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes expands on its predecessor with an exciting and ambitious burst of sci-fi achievement."
  6. I actually feel this is his best film. At least, it's the purest incarnation of Spielberg you can find. Obviously many of his other films are fantastic, but this is a near-perfectly crafted thriller. (yes, Duel > Jaws)
  7. Sorry, I didn't realise this. I was just writing them as the list of movie threads is incomplete. If films are added then other people can review them if they want I thought the purpose of this thread was just so it can be more complete. I won't post like that again, sorry.
  8. One of my favourite romcoms ever, I just adore it. I've probably seen it 15 times or so
  9. I cry very easily at films, but the last time I cried in the cinema wasn't a 2015 release, despite the fact that it came out only two weeks ago - The Tale of the Princess Kaguya. Before that, the last film I cried at was Night at the Museum 3, and The Hobbit 3.
  10. #49 38.38% Director: Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu Written by: Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Armando Bo, Alexander Dinelaris, Jr., Nicolas Giacobone Last year's Best Picture winner swoops in at #49. It's also the first - and not the last - film on the list to be shot by Emmanuel Lubezki. RT Consensus: "A thrilling leap forward for director Alenjandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Birdman is an ambitious technical showcase powered by a layered story and outstanding performances from Michael Keaton and Edward Norton."
  11. As someone who hasn't watched BB, I didn't really understand Five-O. Is BB better/worse than this? Because I am loving this show!
  12. Oops, I meant Marvel movies I don't think of TDK trilogy as superhero movies
  13. It's pitiful that there are so many Marvel movies here. Oh well, only one left now. You can probably guess what it is.
  14. #50 38.34% Directors: Anthony & Joe Russo Written by: Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely More from Marvel, this time in the form of the action-packed Captain America: The Winter Soldier. RT Consensus: "Suspenseful and politically astute, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is a superior entry in the Avengers canon and is sure to thrill Marvel diehards."
  15. #51 38.08% Director: Danny Boyle Written by: Simon Beaufoy One of the most revered British directors of the past 20 years, Danny Boyle, makes his mark on our 100 with his Best Picture-Director film, Slumdog Millionnaire. RT Consensus: "Visually dazzling and emotionally resonant, Slumdog Millionaire is a film that's both entertaining and powerful."
  16. #52 38.04% Director: Doug Liman Written by: Jez Butterworth, John-Henry Butterworth, Christopher McQuarrie The Biggest Movie Star In The World makes his third appearance on the list, in the time-loop sci-fi Edge of Tomorrow. RT Consensus: "Gripping, well acted, funny and clever, Edge of Tomorrow offers entertaining proof that Tom Cruise is still more than capable of shouldering the weight of a blockbuster action thriller."
  17. One of the trends I noticed while compiling the list was that films that are closer in people's memory ended up higher on their lists. Anyway, Whiplash is a fab film, I have no complaints
  18. A personal favourite of mine... #53 37.85% Director: Duncan Jones Written by: Nathan Parker Much like Locke previously, Moon relies on its central performance, and the payoff is a #53 spot on the list. RT Consensus: "Boosted by Sam Rockwell's intense performance, Moon is a compelling work of science-fiction, and a promising debut from director Duncan Jones."
  19. I cried out in pain during Fifty Shades of Grey.
