Been hearing really dreadful things about this one. Its apperently like Final Destination, only it removes what people love about Final Destination.
-
They just released this clip which really put me off the movie, build up is way too short, pay off is none existent. Ugh, it will probably be like that throughout.

The whole movie was an allegory about depression. That ending was nothing more than the Mother trying to move on her life, despite the sickness that was with her, that last scene where we see her 'feeding' the monster, was a representation that a person can never scape from this ill, but you can live with it without being destroyed. A great ending to a great movie.
Ther was another recent movie that was an allegory about depression that flat out told depressed people that they are a plague on their loved ones and everyone would be better off if you killed yourself. It's the only horror movie my therapist said had a really bad effect on me as I took the message to heart.

Will Wish Upon be number 1 next week?

What about Wish Upon?

I feel like there should be a little more marketing at this point. Are WB just concentrating on Annabelle? I believe they should have switched this and Annabelle release date.

Does Spider-Man open tomorrow like the UK or does it open Friday?

The Bye Bye Man at least had people talking about it in the weeks coming up to its release, this is out next week and there is nothing. Also The Bye Bye Man came out at a dead time, this has War Of The Planet Of The Apes and Spider-Man.

Any idea how this is tracking, doesn't seem to be any buzz what so ever.

Just gonna point out this had a great hold. In its second weekend it gained 201 theatres and only dropped less than 37%, which is pretty incredible for an unabashed B-movie thriller. The Shallows dropped almost 48%.
Especially one that's been online for about a year.

Ouija 2s good reviews didn't help it at the box office. Same might happen here.

Wow, some reviews just dropped for this and the film doesn't come out till August.
It was shown at a festival. Shame they didn't show It ?

Considering there hasn't been a big horror movie since the beginning of the year and seeing how it has a whole month to itself until IT comes out, if the reviews are good I could see this making 75-80m. Let's not forget that the first Purge was not well received either, yet the second one increased. I think smth like:
DOM: 75M
OS: 200M
WW: 275M
Ouija 2 had a bit of a drop from the first movie and the sequel got better reviews.

How's The Mummy looking for the weekend?
-
Lol, 1 theatre dropped The Mummy!

This looks proving, hopfully they won't fuck it up with a PG13 rating.

There's also Wish Upon (the next horror movie).
I keep forgetting that movie exists!

Sony / Screen Gems make the worst, safest movie blandest remakes 95% of the time (rare exceptions) and they're usually always awful!

I think there'll be a main trailer with Trans5mers or Dunkirk.
Was looking at Warners upcoming movies, seems like The House would be a good time to premiere a new trailer, Dunkirk and Annabelle feel a bit late.

Shouldn't we be seeing the main trailer / posters by now?

Originally titled Half to Death, Christopher Landon (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones) directs Blumhouse’s latest in which a college student (Jessica Rothe; La La Land) relives the day of her murder with both its unexceptional details and terrifying end until she discovers her killer’s identity.
A horror version of Groundhog Day due out this October.

Coming in now, fairly awful so far. It's like if Final Destination was a Goosebuumps episode.
