I really hope it does well and wakes up WB to make a new Nightmare on Elm Street film. And Paramount to do a new Friday the 13th (god knows Paramount need the money).

    I'm predicting a $40m opening. $100m+ total.

I think the rights to Friday The 13th goes back to New Line at the end of the year. That is one of the reasons the new one got cancelled. Honestly, after seeing Rings I think it's a good thing, too much meddling with Paramount. Although there are some lawsuit issues right now that may prevent a new movie ever happening.

Wouldn't this movie be a bigger hit if it had been rated PG-13 instead of R? Seems like many young teens and kids would have liked to be able to see it in theaters.

    Just a thought I had.

What's stopping them? Me and my friends saw all the Screams etc in cinemas and we where only 10 when Scream came out. Didnt need to sneak in either.

People refer to SJW's like it's a bad thing.

They usually stand up for the right thing.

SJWs tend to attack anything they perceive as Sexist / homophobic or racist, even when it's not. This is what pisses people off. People don't like to be told they're horrible sexists cause they watch slasher movies or because they don't think the new Ghostbusters looks very good.

$40m opening weekend would not be disappointing for a horror film.

    In any scenario. Ever.

Only like 13 horrors have done over $40m opening weekend.

    I Am Legend, World War Z, Paranormal Activity 2 & 3, Friday the 13th, Split, The Village, Cloverfield, Insidious 2, Conjuring 1 & 2.

What if said horror film cost over $250 million to make?
