It was released in China. It made 4.3m$ and was the 7th highest grossing film of its year. Adjusting that to market growth and change in ER, the figure turns to more than 250m$ today. Huh, so apparently the 19000 in placements was nothing special this weekend..... Ah, well, Atleast I got back my usual second place in the SOTM.

Watched Schindlers list, Memento and The Usual Suspects. The first two are really good. Both would make the top 50 of my list as of right now and I am almost sure second viewings are going to make them feel even better. The Usual Suspects was quite good too. The double twists at the end were really great. But the film depended totally on them and in the end they didn't end up being impactful enough to the story we are told itself. That scene of realization is shown in a way as if everything we saw was fabricated but then when we see him in the car it is clear that most of it was true. On the other hand there's something like Memento and Fight Club where everything changes with the twist. The twist in this one was made to feel so important, and in of itself it was pretty good too, but it wasn't really important. Just another whodunnit reveal done really well. Still, it was good and might possibly make it on the bottom 25 of my top 100. So that makes it 44/53 for the films on the list that i have seen and which were in my list. And my top 82 list extends to top 85.

Wow this was really great and 'different'. The non-linear narrative was used so so so well, it blew my mind. The whole effect, then cause thing worked so well. And the twist at the end was great, it completely changed all we believed throughout, whats the truth whats the lie, who's right and who lying. The sammy jenkis thing added a layer. It totally reminded me of shutter island (after the truth about it was revealed of course). So many things worked so well due to the non-linear structure. Like throughout, again and again, we were shown 'don't believe teddy's lies' and then the ending/start turned it upside down. Natalie was definitely the good girl, and in fact she was in a way, but then we see how she used him. And many other things like that. The acting was good. The story was great. The writing and direction were masterpiece level and so complementary in their goodness. Love it 9.5/10
