  6. Barely any changes in the BO for Tuesday 28 July, just Terminator jumping over the dinos.

  8. First one is Fast and Furious 7. I think it has the record for biggest US$ gross in the region, with over $222.2M. It'd be interesting to see its audience. Mexico $51,794 Brazil $46,522 Venezuela $39,076 Argentina $25,899 Colombia $16,390 Central Amer $13,061 Chile $9,430 Peru $7,222 Ecuador $6,157 Caribbean $2,266 Bolivia $2,082 Uruguay $1,371 Paraguay $1,007 TOTAL $222,277
  9. Latin America is a very dynamic region with expanding audience and grosses in local currency. Sadly due to shrinking exchange rates, the gross in US$ is lower in 2015 than in previous years. For box office purposes, it comprises the following markets: Mexico Central America and some of the biggest Caribbean islands (usually reported as Panama) Trinidad, Suriname and smaller Caribbean islands (usually reported as Trinidad) Colombia Venezuela Ecuador Brazil Peru Bolivia Argentina Chile Uruguay Paraguay In 2015, Mexico (US$0.9B), Brazil (US$0.8B), Venezuela (US$0.3B) and Argentina (US$0.2B) were the Top 4 in terms of US$ gross. Since it's hard to find details for the whole area, decided to open this thread to ask for help, gather numbers and find out which are the best grossing and most viewed movies in Latin America, as well as potential forecasts. Any other info exchange is welcome.
  10. Fast and Furious 7 also passed US$200M (about 222) and I think it holds the record in that region.

  13. Fantastic achievement by Minions! Keeping in mind that the Argentina peso (along with the Venezuela bolivar) are over-valued. I'd still use audience as main comparison point across Latin American countries.

  15. BoxOffice.com Pixels began its global rollout along with its North American release this weekend and took in $21.4 million from 56 international territories on 7,100 screens. The early international cume is up to $25.4 million (South Korea opened last weekend with $4 million) and the worldwide total is $49.4 million. Pixels’ international opening is 39% ahead of The Lego Movie across the same markets. In Latin America, the film opened at #1 in Brazil ($3.1 million), Mexico ($3.7 million), Argentina ($2.3 million), Bolivia, Colombia, and Uruguay. Pixels also opened at #1 ahead of Ant-Man and Minions in Russia ($2.7 million) and ahead of Ant-Man in Spain ($1.3 million). Key future releases are Italy (July 29), Germany (July 30), the UK/Ireland (August 12), Australia (September 10), Japan (September 12), and China (September 15
  16. @boxiffice: INSIDE OUT: $229.8M Overseas Total / $550.135M Global Total #InsideOut
  17. What are the chances of reaching US$1.4B? Japan is getting thinner and thinner.
  18. Pixels repeats at #1 on Saturday, followed by Minions, AM, Paper Towns and The Gallows. Sunday is Minions strongest day so the race at the top still open.
