I have to wonder though....how much would a more faithful live action Pokemon movie have done at the box office, with the right kid actors and older actors?
And with a good fun story?
You know....a live action "Pokemon" movie could have been a really cool idea. It's a hugely popular brand after all.
All the director have to do is to know how the ethics of Pokemon works. And be faithful to the source material, of course.
Like...they could bring some kid actors from 10-15 years old to portray their anime counterparts.
Make this more family-friendly like the anime. PG or PG13.
I would love that to happen. And it could have been a pretty good movie.
Hope they actually bring a director who knows much about the "Pokemon" legacy and how the franchise should work.
I mean..the point of the franchise is to catch all Pokemon, train them and use them in battles.
You know, like the games. Know every ethics and rules about Pokemon.
I would love to see that..if its done faithfully and good.
Hmm?
AOU's Friday opening was $84M.
It's Saturday was $56M.
It's Sunday was $50M.
JW's is at $82M.
Does that mean that JW's Saturday & Sunday will be much higher than AOU, since it's more backloaded?
Yeah...Panda 2 drop was an unfortunate shocker...
However..i will say that the reason KFP2 & HTTYD2 dropped because their thunders were stolen by 2 big comedy sequels...Hangover 2 (was for KFP2) & 22 Jump Street. (was for HTTYD2).
Those 2 comedy competitors, also put a halt on the legs on those 2 animated sequels.
But now since KFP3 is being released at the end of January,..with nothing else out....it will build better legs and play really well in February...especially on the Valentines Day weekend.
I think so....
The last two KFP films were beloved by many who saw them.
And i think people will turn for this one because of the great quality from KFP2.
I'll just say it out of the hilltops........this will be among the top 5 highest grossing animated movies WW...easily.
Don't let us down..America..don't let us down.
I think it could happen for Genisys...
It's more like ROTPOTA & X-Men:FC....that it's underestimated by many...but when you see the movie...it's not as bad as we thought.
And also...it has first weekend of July to itself...why wouldn't it?
