So TGM has done it. It outgrossed Transformers 2 for the second highest grossing film distributed by Paramount, DOM-wise of all time. Highest grossing Paramount movie DOM, currently still being Titanic. 💁🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️ -

With 3 (or 4 if you count the spinoff ”Zathura: A Space Adventure”) movies, yes. The first one of them starring Robin Williams, Kirsten Dunst & Bonnie Hunt, and two of it’s sequels starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan & Jack Black.

If neither DS2 or JWD hits $1B WW, they sadly might be on the group of ”Had shots at $1B+ but did not get there”. Along with the Hobbit sequels, The Jungle Book, Jumanji 2, Pirates 3, etc. Why is $1B WW for a film getting a bit harder for certain films? 👩🏻💼🙍🏻♀️

Any guess how much Top Gun 2’s worldwide gross might be today or so? 👩🏻💼 Seems like it keeps grossing more and more.

Yeah. What’s impressive is that Top Gun 2’s OW is higher than all those Transformers films, and it’s gonna beat Transformers 2’s DOM gross.

So Top Gun: Maverick is currently at $357M DOM today. Overtaking Aladdin’s $355M, as the highest grossing film released on Memorial Day Weekend. What next box office goal is there for TGM?

Fair enough. That seems understandable. 👩🏻💼 Though what if Universal did ever thought of wanting Vanessa Lee Chester (the actress who played Kelly) to return as that character in anything Jurassic-related in their franchise? Whether it be in another movie or a tv-show (if they might) or something. Just saying. 🤷🏻♀️ Though another question to those who m really like/are a fan & defender of Lost World: Did you really like that character?

Surely. Though that third one was and still is the lowest grossing film of the entire Jurassic franchise and the only one in the film series, not to hit $200M DOM.

Speaking of “The Lost World: Jurassic Park”, where’s Ian Malcolm’s daughter Kelly after the events of that film? Since we never get to know what happened to her afterwards during the entire franchise. 🤷🏻♀️

True. Critics praised it but somehow some of the audiences wasn’t much on board with that film. Wonder why? 🤔

Top Gun: Maverick = First $300M DOM grosser for Tom Cruise. Next goal: TGM = First $1B WW grosser for Tom Cruise Will be interesting how Mission Impossible 7 & 8 does at the box office, considering that the eight film is the finale for the franchise.

There are still some critics who did give JW: Dominion positive reviews. So this film is not entering TF4-reception. Yeah, Dominion’s critical reception might be average, but not the bottom worst of all huge blockbusters.

Wonder how high can Dominion do OS, to get to $1B WW, comfortably despite the mixed reception? Since this has China (unlike DS2).

True. You’re right. GA did like that movie just enough to make $1.6B+ WW, hence the considerably higher audience rating. 👩🏻💼💁🏻♀️👍🏻 I was more going for the critic reception as a comparison. 🤷🏻♀️

Jon Favreau’s The Lion King (2019) survived it’s negativity and that one is amongst the top 10 highest grossing films worldwide of all time.
